199xorg led the Nairobi cultural and itinerary curation for The Scouts Trip a cultural exchange initiated by Jordan Brand and curated by @unionjeunesseinternationale through @youssouf.f The program connected young leaders from Europe, MENA, North America, and Kenya bringing 16 creatives together to experience Nairobi and its surrounding landscapes ; From the streets of the city to Mount Kenya. The exchange moved across culture, fashion, design, art, sport and food, using place and proximity as the core of the experience. Dubbed Coldest In The Game - From Streets to Mountain, Mountain to Streets, the trip tested the Holiday Mountainside and RealTree collections from @jumpman23 in real conditions, while reflecting the spirit of a generation that pushes further, challenges limits and reshapes what tomorrow can look like. Our role was to shape the Kenya/Nairobi culture & art experience by fostering cultural exchange between 14 creators from all around the globe and 30 creators from Nairobi. allowing room for learning and shared growth. Special appreciation to @unionjeunesseinternationale @auditoire Thank you @jumpman23 for championing physical presence, community and a return to fundamentals. Learning, transmitting and building together. Credits: Director: Bolade Banjo DOP: Marti Guiver 1st AC: Jack Ferrari-Plumridge by @199xorg

I spent a day with creative collective @199xorg in Limuru, a small village outside Nairobi. While chatting about our creative endeavours, we wandered the streets and mixed with the locals. As night approached, we stopped at a butchery for fresh beef with ugali. Thank you @capturedbyodede @mbaalamwezi @odiiyo @kennedymirema for sharing your culture and inspirations. ⚫️ Shamba la Mawe means “Garden of Stones” in Swahili and is a local name for Nairobi. It speaks to the city’s raw spirit: gritty, unfiltered, full of life. Together with local creative @KennedyMirema, we created a visual essay on Nairobi’s creative underground, capturing the city’s essence through its people and communities. A dream commission made possible by @KLM and @PhotoVogue. Special thanks to @alessiaglaviano @kayseellis @kennedyMirema and above all the beautiful people of Nairobi who stood before my lens and shared their stories.
