Two cities, one team, one shared mission. 💙🧡

Te Lo Cuento News’s commitment to community journalism brings our team together across cities and states.

📍 In New York City, Jessi Freitas, our Content Editor, represented Te Lo Cuento News at the Latino Media Summit 2026 at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, connecting with colleagues and contributing our newsroom’s perspective to conversations about Latino journalism.

📍 In Pittsburgh, Eduardo Hayek, our National Outreach Director, and Carlos Roa, our Pennsylvania Editor, are leading a community conversation in partnership with Factchequeado. Featuring Susan Baida, Alicia Sewald-Cisneros, and Rafael Collazo, the gathering focuses on election questions, Latino electoral participation, and the community’s information needs.

These efforts support our broader work serving communities in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa in the Midwest, as well as Pennsylvania.

As a newsroom built by immigrant journalists, we bring professional expertise and lived experience to our reporting. We understand the importance of accessible, reliable information that reflects the realities of the communities we serve.

Our team works across geographic distances with a shared commitment: listening to our audiences, building trust, and producing journalism that helps people navigate their daily lives.

Te Lo Cuento News: immigrant journalists informing immigrant communities.

Today marks 10 years since I moved to the United States with a one-way ticket.

The best way to describe this journey is as a roller coaster of growth, unexpected experiences, challenges, and discoveries. I embraced this country, and it embraced me back.

This is home. And by home, I mean so much more than the place where I live. It is my neighborhood, my borough, my district, my state, and this entire country.

Life here has taught me how to navigate the unexpected, overcome challenges, and, most importantly, become the best version of myself I can be.

Ten years later, I look back with gratitude for everything this journey has brought into my life and with excitement for everything that is still ahead.

Thank you, America, for welcoming me, challenging me, and giving me a place to call home. 🇺🇸 taken in Ambridge, Pennsylvania by @1carlosroa
