$250 dryer vent cleaning or a house fire?

Three dryer vents, all packed with lint.

Every load leaves lint behind, and some of it gets past the filter and builds up in the vent, where you can’t see it. It happens whether your vent comes out on a wall or on the roof. Lint is highly flammable, and failing to clean the vent is the leading cause of home dryer fires.

Signs your dryer vent needs a cleaning:
* Your clothes take longer than usual to dry
* The outside vent flap doesn’t open when the dryer is running
* You smell something burning while it runs
* You see lint around the outside vent

Fire safety experts recommend cleaning your dryer vent at least once a year. It keeps your home safe and helps your dryer use less energy.

Dryer vent cleaning starts at $249.

Save this for your next home maintenance day, and send it to a who does a ton of laundry!

Surprise! It's a myth. Blocking vents can make your HVAC system work harder, and it won't lower your energy bills. It can even raise them. 😲

Instead, try:
- Sealing air leaks
- Upgrading insulation
- Using a programmable or smart thermostat (and actually setting a schedule)

Your wallet will thank you! 💡

Myth or Fact: Heat pumps don’t work in cold climates? ❄️

MYTH. That used to be true, but today’s cold-climate heat pumps can keep running down to -35°C, depending on the model. That means they can heat your home through Canadian winters, all year long.

Wondering which heat pump fits your home and our winters? We can help you choose.

Turning your heat off when you leave the house doesn’t save you money.

Every time you come home and crank it back up, your system works overtime to catch up, and that costs you more.

Keep a steady temperature instead. It can drop a little while you’re away, but avoid big swings.

A high-efficiency thermostat and a high-efficiency unit make it easy.

Watch his shoe… 👀

All of this came out of ONE dryer vent.

Lint buildup makes your dryer work harder and is a fire risk.

When was the last time yours was cleaned?

Myth or Fact : Duct tape is made for ducts… right? 🤔

Even Jason couldn’t keep a straight face on this one. 😄

MYTH. Ironic, we know.

Despite its name, regular duct tape doesn’t hold up on ducts. We use metal tape, a specific aluminum tape made for the job.

If you see duct tape on your ducts, call us.
We can fix it.

Here’s what’s going on: every time your heating or AC runs, the air in your home moves through these ducts.

Over the years, dust, pet hair and debris settle inside them, out of sight, so they get forgotten.

Our rotating brush loosens what’s stuck to the duct walls, and our truck-mounted unit pulls it all out, so that buildup isn’t sent back into your living space every time the system turns on.

Good to know: if you’ve just moved in, renovated, or have pets, your ducts have probably collected more than you’d think.

First time running the heat this season?

If your ducts stayed damp all summer (especially with the AC running), that’s the air your furnace is now pushing through your home.
3 simple habits to start the season right:

1️⃣ Check your furnace filter
2️⃣ Keep indoor humidity between 30–50%
3️⃣ Watch for a musty smell or mold around your vents

Save this for your next home maintenance day.
