☝🏾This is what 53 years looks like for me. 👍🏾 With my own challenges that I continue to overcome and be strengthened by, to the successes that I’ve been fortunate to obtain, yes I feel so blessed to still be alive and be seen. I speak much love and respect ✊🏾 to all whose paths I’ve crossed along the way in this unique journey called life, including many who are no longer here physically. Now I #goback2thething 🎶 of pursuing my #purpose and #passions…until my time is up. 💪🏾 #TTBESTDRESSEDDAD by @1coolbrother

Much respect ✊🏾 to my daughter and the events planning team that she has been a part of for a good minute now here in Memphis. Her team was responsible for putting together #901day … Aside from some great local music 🎶 artists and the appearance of a number of local dignitaries (our City Mayor, New County Elected Mayor, & the one and only David Porter of Stax Records), the icing was finally witnessing up front the next music 🎼 legend to come out of this city. This journey tested my patience, resilience, and limits, costing countless late nights and hard workdays. The detours, restarts, and resources spent along the years were heavy, but reflecting on it today, I feel uplifted. The experience made me stronger, and I’m so happy to finally say: #itsfinished! 🥳🎓 #ACEedu #ACECommunity

It is official: my dissertation is defended, and I am now Dr. Gerar Pope, Doctor of Education! To God be the glory! ✨

A massive thank you to my family, friends, and committee for standing by me through it all. Graduation Summer 2027, here I come! "To whom much is given, much is required." 📜➡️🕊️

Happy Father’s Day to my dad who has no doubt helped me to become the man I am today. Also, much respect to my son who along with his sister gives me a reason to be a better father every single day. This Jazz 🎶track #SmilinBillySuite by #TheHeathBrothers (famously sampled for One Love by Nas) is a timeless tribute for our timeless bond. ✊🏾💪🏾👍🏾 #fathersday #threegenerations & #familylegacy by @1coolbrother

Man, at this point in my life, I am just happy for any day off with some rest, peace, and to do a little something like this ☝🏾…Much respect ✊🏾 to those that sacrificed their lives fighting for this country, especially FBAs (Foundational Black Americans) who created #memorialday 💪🏾 by @1coolbrother

Though the circumstances were tough, it’s always a blessing to be home with family and friends, particularly on this Mother’s Day. Sending love to everyone, especially the Burton family. ❤️ 🕊️aunthattieburton by @1coolbrother
