I have never attempted to paint an abstract before, but this painting was the result of attempting to scrub a used canvas clean. Ghosts took over.
However, I have photographed hundreds of abstract paintings for galleries, and the first question I always asked the "handlers" without fail was "Are you 100% sure that is the right way up?" This was never malicious, just a need to be accurate.
Now I have allowed the ghosts ti take over this canvas, I am asking myself the same question and I do not have an answer!

After the event of a Shane Wolf based life drawing session, I decided to try and take this sketch further. This is just about as far as I can go without a reference. Once again many thanks to the ultra dedicated model @ianlifemodel

Wow! What an totally fabulous drawing session today at WLD! Themed on the incredible drawings of Shane Wolf, our model @ianlifemodel was the epitome of professionalism and dedication. Not only did he put in extra gym work in order to turn up in 100% condition, he had also put together poses used by Shane Wolf knowing exactly how long he could realistically hold each. Fantastic! The drawings here are 5x10 minute and the larger 2x25 minutes drawings. Hopefully I have enough information on each to take them a little further.

First day of the new term @whitefield_lifedrawing today with Scott offering his "portrait of the Artist" poses.
Two one hour 8x6 alla prima oil sketches seemed to be too demanding at times, but I thought it may be a fun change from the charcoal.
As always, a fantastic experience being in such a great place on a sunny day!

Here is an A1+ size sketch from the amazing Rubens session at Whitefield Life Drawing on Friday. This trois crayon effort was from a 45 minute pose by the amazing @danielle.lifemodel based upon Ruben's "Ermit and Sleeping Angelica."

Last week I joined @londondrawing for an on-line all day session featuring the fantastic @andrea.morani_lifemodel
Not too sure if it is the difficulty of measuring from the computer screen or if I was just having a bad day, but it was 6 hours of doubt and hesitation for me.
The resulting drawing needs some work to arrive anywhere near where I want it, but for now I am not looking at it.
Meanwhile, I thought I might post this drawing of Andrea from his own on-line from last October.
As ever, it is on photographic background paper tinted with acrylic paint and gesso. Charcoal pencil, General's white charcoal pencil and Sanguine conte pencil made the marks. by @1gerymac
