Okay this story was amazing. I started reading this late at night with intentions on finishing it another day and couldn't put it down.

The story followes along with a young kid, Lucas, who in the midst of running away from home in an attempt to teach his divorcing parents a lessons gets kidnapped and taken in by a psychotic family.

This story kept me interested throughout and had a fabolous plot twist at the end that I didn't see coming which I suppose I should have.

Although unlikely I would love to see a follow up to this story. It would be interesting to see how this event will shape him as a teen and adult. 📙

I really enjoyed this short story by Stephen King. In it, we the reader are learn about a disabled, former astronaut who's body(hand) seems to host the gateway to something otherworldly and sinister.

While I live short stories as a means to be keep busy in a short down time I wish this story would've been flushed out even more. The premise was interesting and I really wanted to see how far this could go.

SIDENOTE:I definitely started to itch while reading this which was very disheartening.

The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service where your body is their business, consist of five misfit Buddhist university students that take it upon themselves to search out dead bodies and deliver them to specified locations to free their soul for a price of course.

This volume consisted of four stories that were all interesting in their own way I just happened to prefer the last two stories the most. One had to do with a body sewn together from various other bodies and the other dealt with an Actuary.

I didn't realize this was book 6 in a series but nonetheless I didn't feel like I was missing out on any critical character backstory which lends itself to being a well written standalone in my opinion.

In this particular story I got to follow along with FBI agents Stevens and Windermere as they try hunt a serial killer whose victims seem to have something major in common... They are the victims that society doesn't seem to care about: runaways, addicts or prostitutes.

The agents begin their hunt for a serial killer after the discovery of a dead female drifter body seem to have commonalities to a string of murders through the Rocky Mountains.

As expected they do seem to meet some opposition along the way but it's nothing to series nor do they let it deter them.
I did enjoy the ending and that everything wasn't wrapped up with a neat little bow. I would like to check out more by this author as he is new to me.

"We humans believe our technology has made us invincible - that we've evolved beyond the simple notion of predator and prey." I think this quote does a good job of explaining the main issue in the story but it is also what made it a fun and interesting read. I really wish I had seen this prior to the most recent #Aliens movie because it would've been a good addition to a marathon session. 👽 by @1mishd
