On a random day in December 2024, I was invited by the MD of Creative Economy Practice/CCHub @ojomaochai to submit a pitch to develop a curriculum for a Gender Equitable Storytelling Course for Film/TV Producers in Nigeria & Kenya. Gender Equity & Producing? Two things I am insanely passionate about? Say less.The next day, @thedigitalmarketwoman (who has become a cherished ally on this journey) shared a TOR, and I submitted a pitch that would hopefully convince CEP that I was exactly who they needed Early this year, I got the fantastic news that I'd be the Nigerian facilitator for the @entertainmentandmediahubs timely/ground-breaking program. These past few months, the incredibly brilliant and vastly experienced @njoki_muhoho of @zebra_productions_ke and I designed and refined a Gender Equitable Storytelling Producing curriculum that aligned with the tenets of CEP/CCHub.Yesterday, this 3-Month Hybrid Course kicked off in Nigeria with 20 talented producers and our first guest speaker, the amazing filmmaker @ted_abudu my partner @1podpictures Team Nigeria is rounded out by the supremely capable @olabodeeko & @queenoyinadeadesida who are helping to deliver an optimal learning experience. I'm grateful for organisations like @entertainmentandmediahubs who put resources towards balancing the scales of Gender Dynamics. Here's to keeping the flywheel going! The CEP Entertainment Hub in Lekki, Lagos state, is fully equipped to support your practice as a Storyteller. In order of appearance, we have:1. Event Space with capacity to hold up to 100, this space is available to our community members for free.2. General workspace with 20+ editing suites (iOS, HP, Omen), and Adobe Suites fully installed. Also available to our community members for free.3. Collaborative spaces, to facilitate connection among our community members.4. Podcast Room 1 and 2, with parabolic lights, rode mics, cameras and mixers. This is available to all our community members for free.5. Training/Workshop room, with a seating capacity for 40 people, and projector + screen.
