Just a quick trip to be in the house of the Lord where both my grandmothers served, mother, aunts and even my sister as a little girl was in the choir. My uncle would pray anytime he was asked, my cousin was the Sunday school superintendent and is now 86 years old. Just thankful that their prayers are still covering each of us. To God we give all the praise, honor and glory. 💜💜💜 #PitchfordReunion taken in Littleton, North Carolina by @1prettypearl85

2026 Unity in the Community

~ Back 2 School Celebration Norfolk Public Schools

It’s that time again! We are excited to invite you to volunteer for the 2026 Unity in the Community: Back 2 School Celebration, sponsored by the City of Norfolk in collaboration with Norfolk Public Schools. This event will provide back-to-school supplies, health screenings, critical resources, food, entertainment, and more for our students and families in our community.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope Arena and will bring together Norfolk families, students, community organizations, and volunteers to celebrate the start of a new school year.

As a valued volunteer from last year’s event, we hope you will consider joining us again! We are seeking volunteers for a variety of roles, all of which are listed in the linked volunteer sign-up form.
