Cover up!!!! I’m so stoked. I often prefer to do large cover ups in two sessions. I find the end product is higher quality that way- for the way that I work. The third or fourth picture shows the stages. I’m hoping if the old tattoo shows through at all- it will only help to add to the total contrast. Yeah! Fuck yeah! #coverup #fuckyeah #hammer #workingclass #blackeyedsusan #tattoo #marylandtattoo #grateful taken in Mr. Lucky Tattoo by @1raitch

So, here's The Thing…almost 24 years ago and early in boot camp, my drill sergeant nicknamed me Beaker and, for awhile, it stuck. So, when I started thinking a few years ago about how to commemorate my 24 years of #Army Reservice and #retirement with a #tattoo in my own…unique way, I was reminded of the incredible artwork of @brucemccorkindale, who often mashes up classic movie and TV moments with #TheMuppets, and specifically his tribute to @johncarpenterofficial’s #TheThing with Beaker as the head spider. Bruce was gracious enough to give his permission for me to ink his artwork on me.

As always, @1raitch at @mrluckytattoo_ in Dunkirk, MD crushed this concept yesterday (she also did my chicky chicky parm parm tattoo 2 years ago). It’s so weird, wonderful, silly, and beautifully rendered and I love it so much. taken in Mr. Lucky Tattoo by @1raitch
