L’atmosfera 01 🌺🔵
:
This artwork is inspired by the light and rhythm of Milan in late afternoon, when the fog softens the edges of everything. Cobalt blue skies, Venetian rose/ red ochre facades.

I don’t clean my palette. I just foil over it and keep going. It keeps my mixes wet and keeps my color history on hand. New layer, peel one back, wrapped up till next time 🎨

Layer one:
Two canvases, one rhythm. Just started, letting the colors find each other before anything gets decided.
More layers to come.

In 2021, I had the chance to visit Kusama’s exhibition at Martin-Gropius-Bau, her first major retrospective in Germany, titled „A Bouquet of Love I Saw in the Universe.” Her universe of dots was impressive, room after room tracing seven decades of infinity, repetition, and color. Still one of the most immersive shows I’ve ever walked through. 🩷🖤
