A little homecoming + a lot of future gazing ✨

Last week I joined an incredible panel at Hyde Park Labs for Upward 2026, on Workforce Development in the 5th Industrial Revolution — digging into AI, the future of work and what it actually means to prepare people for a rapidly changing world.

A particularly meaningful one for me as a UChicago alum and as an operator navigating this transformation in real time.

My biggest takeaway: the future belongs less to those who simply know AI and more to those who know how to work with it, question it (!), adapt alongside it and bring distinctly human judgment to the table.

Grateful for the conversation, the community and a little Hyde Park homecoming. ✨ Thank you @flextechai and @drflexshow having me and for creating a forum for this much needed conversation 🙏🏾

The 5th Industrial Revolution is here. As AI, robotics, and automated systems shift into mainstream industry, workforce strategy is having to adapt fast. We’re bringing together experts April Welch, William Smith, Semhar Amdemichael, and Candice M. Smith to talk through what it means to be AI-fluent (not just AI-literate), what the future of collaboration looks like, and how to reskill when expertise is a moving target.

Sip ‘N Slay 2026 was SO inspiring! ✨

✅ Vibes: Immaculate
✅ Content + Conversations: Intentional & inspiring
✅ Takeaways: Practical

But honestly, one of my favorite parts was the community. I genuinely enjoyed meeting every person I crossed paths with and connecting with so many women who are creating, building, pivoting, and figuring it out along the way.

Leaving inspired, energized, and reminded that there’s room to build a business, reinvent yourself, and have FUN while doing it. 🙌🏾✨

More rooms like these, please.

Started voice lessons because I wanted to try something new 💪🏾🎶

The irony? The song I was singing was “Got to Be Real” while I was busy trying to mimic someone else’s voice. 😭

My instructor reminded me that finding your voice isn’t just about singing. It’s about trusting what’s already yours.

Apparently, becoming yourself takes practice. ✨

And I’m thoroughly enjoying the process🌷

finding your voice • becoming yourself • self-discovery • personal growth • authenticity

I loved The Odyssey and what it reveals about human nature.

Two lessons that resonated with me:

• The importance of keeping your ego in check, especially when things are going well.
• The loudest critics often aren’t the ones willing to step into the arena.

What stuck out to you?

The Odyssey, Odysseus, Greek mythology, personal development, self awareness, Brené Brown, emotional intelligence, ego and pride, leadership lessons
