Today, I celebrate not just another year, but the journey of a woman who wears many crowns: mother, grandmother, CEO, community leader, and lifelong student of life. Each role has shaped me, stretched me, and taught me to rise above the noise.

As a proud and educated woman, I stand firm in my belief that life, no matter how hard it may look, is always worth living. The hurdles I’ve faced have been God’s way of showing me that even in the storm, there’s purpose. He is my anchor, my guide, my constant reminder that faith isn’t just about seeing the light; it’s about being the light.

I’ve learned to laugh at life’s absurdities (like the fact that I still have energy after spending time with my multiple grandkids). And I’ve also learned to embrace my imperfections and to lead with my heart, UNAPOLOGETICALLY, with purity and strength.

So here’s to another year of making a difference, lifting others as I climb, and choosing joy, even when life throws its best punches. Let’s live, laugh, and love harder than ever in this next phase of life!

I remember one Christmas when my son PJ was a child, maybe 9 or 10 years old, we were walking to the car, heading to my mom's, when I looked up to Heaven and said "Happy Birthday Jesus". My son looked at me and asked me what did I think Heaven looked like and what did I think Jesus was doing in Heaven. As I was driving, we ended up having a brief discussion on our thoughts and ideas of what it was like there. I was so fascinated in how curious he was about God and Heaven. Now here we are, 10+ years later, and his questions are now personally answered by Jesus himself. As bad as I'm hurting, and missing my baby like crazy on this Christmas day, my first without him, I try to find some peace in knowing that this Christmas, he's with his true father, who can answer EVERY question that he has. PJ is now bugging God with those thousands of questions, while smiling down at me, but funny thing is, I can still hear his voice.

With that being said, THANK YOU Coley Dixon for creating this slide show for me (which was also played at his funeral). When I heard this song, I knew it was fitting for my son.

Remember people, LOVE WHILE YOU CAN, CHERISH THOSE YOU LOVE, & MAKE EVERY MOMENT COUNT!

This still feels sooooooooooooo surreal. Just 3 weeks ago, my mom was talking and walking, well somewhat, and now she's gone! My mom was a mother, a daughter, a sister, a grand-mother/great grandmother, a friend, a mentor, and for sure, an awesome Pastor. There is NO DOUBT that she's now in HEAVEN, as one of our new angels. No more suffering, Mommy! We love you!

☀️ MONDAY MOTIVATION ☀️

Let me remind somebody of something: THE DAY IS NOT OVER!

Maybe your morning started off productive. Maybe it started with confusion, frustration, a missed alarm, an unexpected bill, or you simply woke up and said, “Lord, I’m already tired!” 😂 Either way, you still have time to get yourself together and make the rest of this day count.

I don’t care what your title is, how much money you make, what degree you have, where you work, whether you own the building, clean the building, are looking for a job, building a business, raising children, attending school, retired, or starting your entire life over. Every one of us has moments when we need to pause, regroup, and remind ourselves WHY we cannot quit.

Stop comparing your progress to people who are traveling a completely different road. Some people are ahead of you, some are behind you, and some are just making a whole lot of noise while standing in the same spot! 😂 Stay focused on YOUR assignment.

You may not be where you want to be yet, but thank God you are not where you used to be. Give yourself credit for the battles you fought quietly, the days you showed up tired, and the times you kept going when quitting would have been easier.

Now, drink some water, fix your attitude, say a prayer, handle your business, and FINISH STRONG! You have already made it through half of the day. Don’t allow one bad moment, one difficult person, or one unexpected situation to take the rest of it from you.

No matter what is happening around you, never stop letting your beauty shine. Life will have cloudy days, unexpected storms, and moments that test your strength, but remember, the sun never stops shining above the clouds.

Choose to see the glass half full instead of half empty. Your perspective has the power to change your reality. Every challenge carries a lesson, every setback prepares you for a comeback, and every new day is another opportunity to begin again.

Love yourself wholeheartedly, not because you’re perfect, but because you’re wonderfully, uniquely, and beautifully you. Know your worth. Don’t allow anyone else’s opinion to determine your value. Last week, I had the privilege of attending ‘Grooves, Giggles & Giving’ in Virginia Beach, and it was an evening filled with inspiration, entertainment, community engagement, and meaningful conversation.

A special thank you to District 7 Councilman Cal “Cash” Jackson-Green, who served as the keynote speaker and shared valuable insight into the future of Virginia Beach. Hearing about the city’s vision, economic development initiatives, and plans for growth was both informative and exciting. As someone who frequently visits Virginia Beach, I appreciated learning more about what is happening behind the scenes and how those decisions impact residents, visitors, business owners, and the community as a whole.

One thing I have learned over the years is that community involvement matters. No, I’m not saying you need to attend every political event in every city you visit. However, if you are a frequent visitor, investor, entrepreneur, or someone who genuinely cares about a community, it is important to understand what is happening there. The people elected to lead our cities make decisions that affect economic growth, public safety, tourism, housing, business opportunities, and the overall quality of life.

Too many people sit on the sidelines and complain about what is wrong while never taking the time to learn what is being done to make things right. Real change happens when informed people become engaged people. Attend the meetings. Ask questions. Learn the issues. Meet the leaders. Support positive initiatives. Become part of the conversation instead of simply observing it from a distance.

There comes a point in life when you stop asking for permission to become the person God created you to be.

You stop shrinking your dreams to make other people comfortable. You stop carrying the weight of every mistake, every disappointment, and every opinion that was never yours to own. You realize that growth requires courage, healing requires honesty, and success requires consistency. The strongest version of you is not the one who never struggled,dit is the one who kept moving forward despite the struggle.

Every scar tells a story. Every setback taught a lesson. Every tear watered the seeds of the woman or man you are becoming. The road may not have been easy, but it has made you wiser, stronger, more compassionate, and more determined than ever before. A lot of people see the success, but they never see the nights you cried, the doors that closed, the betrayal you survived, the exhaustion you pushed through, or the moments you had to rebuild yourself in silence. Being an entrepreneur is NOT glamorous every day. Sometimes it looks like praying over bills, fighting self-doubt, carrying everyone else while nobody carries you, and still refusing to quit. That’s what separates real leaders from people who just like the title.

When it comes to our female bosses, a powerful woman is not dangerous because she’s loud, she’s powerful because she finally realized she SHOULD NOT & DOES NOT have to beg for respect, lower her standards, explain her worth, or shrink herself to make other people comfortable. She learned how to walk away from anything that disrupts her peace, her purpose, or her future. She learned that leadership is not about controlling people, it’s about inspiring people through consistency, wisdom, accountability, and grace.

To every entrepreneur silently struggling right now: KEEP GOING. Your current chapter is NOT your final destination. Some of the strongest people are carrying pain nobody knows about while still showing up every single day with excellence. DO NOT let temporary setbacks convince you to abandon permanent purpose. The vision God gave you was never meant to be easy, it was meant to change lives.

Okay… so let me tell y’all what happened to me a few days ago! 😳

I went to Food Lion and bought this “Kevin’s Sous Vide” chicken because social media had people RAVING about how amazing it was. You know how those food videos be having you convinced you’re about to eat a five-star meal at home 😂

So I paid almost $10 for this package of “chicken,” brought it home, got busy, anda left it sitting out all day.

Now HERE is where it gets disturbing…

Later on, I picked the package up and pressed on it a little bit and the “chicken” literally started DISAPPEARING inside the pack 😳😳😳

Y’all, SERIOUSLY, it turned into some kind of liquified mushy paste. No texture. No strands. No firmness. NOTHING that resembled real chicken. It looked like somebody blended it in a blender and poured it back into the package 🤢

At that moment, I didn’t even get mad about wasting my money. I got concerned about what people are actually putting into their bodies these days.

Because ain’t NO WAY real chicken should completely dissolve into liquid like that.

And before anybody says, “Well you left it out all day…” BABY, I know that 😂 But spoiled chicken usually smells horrible, changes color, gets slimy, and looks spoiled. This? This literally MORPHED into something that didn’t even feel real anymore.

That was enough for me.

I threw the whole thing away without a second thought because I don’t care about losing $10 if it means I’m choosing my health over convenience. Some foods are overprocessed to the point where you have to question if it’s even food anymore.

Social media will hype up ANYTHING.
But just because something is trending doesn’t mean it belongs in your body.

Pay attention to what you eat.
Read labels.
Protect your health.
And trust your instincts.

Because whew… that experience just changed my appetite for a LOT of things 😭

They’ll celebrate your success one day, but they will never fully understand the sleepless nights, the silent sacrifices, the risks you took, the tears you hid, the prayers you whispered, or the pressure you carried just to build something bigger than yourself.

Being an entrepreneur is not just about owning a business. It’s about having the courage to carry a vision that other people can’t yet see. It’s about leading with integrity when shortcuts are easier. It’s about creating opportunities, changing lives, shifting cultures in the workforce, and showing people that REAL leadership is not about power… it’s about purpose, consistency, empathy, accountability, and the ability to inspire others while still fighting your own battles behind closed doors.

A real boss doesn’t just give orders. A real boss teaches, uplifts, sacrifices, listens, learns, adapts, and creates lanes for other people to win too. A real leader understands that titles mean nothing if your heart, character, and actions don’t align with the people you serve.

And the truth is, everyone will not understand your journey. Some people will criticize what they’ve never had the courage to build. Some will question your vision because they’ve never endured the weight of responsibility, leadership, payroll, disappointments, setbacks, losses, betrayal, exhaustion, and still had to wake up the next morning and lead with excellence anyway.

But never allow outside noise to overpower your inner purpose.

Keep building.
Keep believing.
Keep leading.
Keep creating change.
Keep walking in rooms that once intimidated you.
Keep showing the next generation that success can still have morals, compassion, faith, discipline, and heart attached to it.

The world doesn’t need more bosses who demand respect. The world needs more leaders who earn it.
