To Mari…
we were forced to be cousins family and blood but born and destined to be befriends and you leaving feels like a piece of me left with you. Every time we hung out, every summer, every argument, and every fight i’ll never regret or forget because it’s what made us as close as we are. i remember the times you came to chicago and id tell grandma and my dad i wasn’t going to camp because you were in town…the whole city came after you in my eyes. or the times you used to get me in trouble by grandma for doing something you no business doing and blaming me. You are the first best friend i’ve ever had, my first loss, and loosing you taught me my first hardest lesson…when we were at our family trip over the summer we had a disagreement and we never talked it out right then and there. the next day you left the vacation without saying goodbye and this made me feel some type of way. I was angry with you and held this over your head even though you didn’t deserve that from me. I was so arrogant and stubborn i even told grandma i wouldn’t call you anymore unless you called me. Now with you being gone…i regret not making that call. You leaving taught me to always make sure you sit and talk things out with your family no matter how angry y’all are at each other. there’s too much going on in today’s world and we got too much love for each other to act this way towards each other. You leaving yes did break our hearts and many ways we can’t even begin to explain…however you leaving brung all of your loved ones here today to celebrate you and mourn together. Family who haven’t met each other, family who haven’t seen each other in years, haven’t talked in years… and for that you’re a blessing in my life and everyone else here today. Amari Alowonle you will live in my heart forever, in my eyes you have always been an angel but you have now gained your wings. I will continue to let your name live on, and carry out that positive lit energy you instilled into me. I love you forever and always Mariboo! 1 week later…i’m still finding ways to cope…you got me losing weight and some more shi, I take you everywhere with me so i don’t loose sight of u❤️ by @1ts.dj
