So A & P almost took me out but here are a few things that helped me :

• Study , study study! - There’s so much information being thrown at you, fast! It’s imperative that you set time aside to study. If your A&P class is 2 hours - 4 days a week , match that in studying time.

• Understanding the endocrine system- This gave me a really solid foundation for pharmacology. Most medications are working on this level, so understanding how our bodies work naturally is a cheat code to pharmacology.

• The heart - I studied the pathway of blood flow through the heart and into systemic circulation for about 10 hours! This single concept took me about 16 hours total to master and understand. This really helps me with heart failure meds, diuretics , etc.

• Nursing consideration - Think like a nurse ! This is so much easier said than done, how could one think like a nurse if you’ve never been one ? 🥴 This was giving me the most problems, but the further you get in your education and career, the easier it’ll be. Start working on your clinical judgement day 1!

•Kidneys & Liver - FOCUS - if you know you know .
