Chasing clarity and tea like body in you cup? Then the ZP6 Special might be the best grinder for you.

It’s my favourite hand grinder for crystal-clear cups, and I use it daily, often several times a day.

What I love:
- Consistently great grind results
- Cristal clear flavour separation
- Excellent with fruity (ultra)light roasts where the coffee bean’s character can be well revealed

The downsides:
- It can mute the flavour of medium roasts with chocolatey, nutty notes
- Body and syrupy brews or espresso are not what you can get because of the low fine production

After more than three years of daily use, I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who loves (ultra)light, lightly processed coffees, whether washed, honey or other clarity-leaning ones.

Is This the Future of Manual Coffee Grinding?

Okay guys, today we’re talking about something different from your typical hand grinder

Unlike conventional hand grinders, the Diamond A is designed to stay on your coffee bar, featuring a solid metal body, side crank, and built in suction base for a more stable grinding experience

1. DESIGN & GRINDING EXPERIENCE
Weighing approximately 3 kg, this isn’t a grinder you’d bring on your coffee trips
But the tabletop design allows you to grind without constantly holding the grinder with your other hand, making it an interesting option for home brewers

First impressions with the @1zpresso ZP6 Special

For this first exploration, I wanted to keep things simple, focusing on the grinding experience, the feel, and the small details that make you want to keep brewing 😄

I tested it with some pretty high-density coffees, and what immediately surprised me was just how smooth and controlled the grinding felt.

But this is only the beginning.
As a roaster, I’m much more curious about what happens after the grinding, how different coffees translate in the cup, how extraction changes, and ultimately, what I can actually taste.

So for now, consider this my first chapter with the ZP6.

More coffees, more brewing, and a lot more exploring to come. ☕️

Cappuccino break in the middle of Romedalen, Sunnmøre, Norway 🇳🇴☕️⛰️

With the Flair 58+, 1Zpresso hand grinder, Acaia scale, Subminimal for frothing the oat-milk, and camping gear from Primus Equipment, making coffee out here becomes a little ritual of its own.

Is the 1Zpresso K-Ultra the best all round grinder? 🤔

I know everyone is always raving about the ZP6, and its consistent clarity.

I love a tea-like brew, but I also love playing around and pushing my coffees in different directions. So for me, having a grinder that’s well-rounded and can handle a whole range of tastes and profiles just makes more sense.

Though I would love to have a ZP6 also 🤣

Been thinking about the Hibiscus Mocha I had at Jiro Coffee Studio @jiro_coffee in Poblacion, Makati last June. I liked it enough to order another one right after finishing the first, so naturally, I had to try making my own version at home.

For the espresso, I went with Yardstick’s Golden Ticket. Jiro uses Yardstick coffee as well, and with Golden Ticket’s chocolate, dried orange, and toffee notes, it felt like a good place to start.

The hibiscus brings a tart, almost berry-like fruitiness that cuts through the richness of the chocolate, while the espresso keeps everything grounded. There’s still that familiar mocha character, but brighter, a little more floral, and not as heavy on the palate.

Definitely inspired by Jiro rather than an exact recreation, but I’m really happy with how this one turned out.
