Our 10th issue is here - and with it we mourn the passing of, and celebrate one of our favorite skateboarders of all time, Marc Johnson. We also spend time with the band we’ve loved for over a decade, @whereismuna , as well as one of their biggest admirers (who we also deeply admire), @noravexplora . We travel to Hong Kong with Thames and Melbourne with New Balance, and we check in with @reverendbaron —who is always on the move—about his upcoming album and search for a place to call home. And, as always, we celebrate over 60 pages of beautiful pictures from some of our favorite photographers. Some spreads and details from the ‘cut it yourself’ feature in 2001 magazine issue 8! All shot in Barcelona, sequenced in Antwerp and published in Los Angeles.

The size of the magazine offers a great experience in changing the sequence of the spreads. Allowing you to take in the details and compositions that appear between the top and bottom images when shuffled.

Super proud of this project and the freedom I received in designing this feature! Glad to have this out in your hands!

10 pages in issue 8 of 2001 magazine featuring some of my favorite skaters! I never could’ve dreamt this up, it happened so fast!

I’ve finally come around to showing this work. I’m super pleased with how this project came out! Changing up the relationship of the reader towards the magazine as an object intrigued me. The hard part was figuring out how to get it from my head into your hands. In the end I opted to have you cut the magazine yourself, and fully claim it as your own. Have fun figuring out new combinations and forming alternate storylines in the pages.

Issue 9 with our guy @antoniodurao ! This issue is a great one—we spend some time with Antonio in New York; talk growing up skating, @tothestars.media and @blink182 with @tomdelonge ; fly through Medellin with @gonogold and @glueeyes_ ; and nerd out on photography with @r.barbee . And s always, there’s a big gallery section full of our favorite photographers’ work. Orders placed today and tomorrow will be shipped by tomorrow evening!
