Mistah F.A.B Clears The Air After Miscommunication Leads To Controversy Over Upcoming Rap Concert

via @thebayareatimes_

“Mr. Fab” (commonly stylized as Mistah F.A.B.) is the stage name of Stanley Petey Cox, a prominent Bay Area rapper, songwriter, and community activist. Hailing from North Oakland, he is best known as a leading figure and “crown prince” of the Bay Area’s energetic hyphy movement of the 2000’s. .His stage name is an acronym standing for Money Is Something To Always Have Forever After Bread.

Recently there was controversy and backlash created amongst Stockton’s rap scene because word got out that no Stockton artists were being invited to perform (something considered customary in hip hop culture) because it was claimed Stockton Police notified the concert organizers not to, due to concerns with gang violence including the mass gang shootout in November 2025, which claimed multiple children and has still not seen any arrests or accountability.

As a result of the backlash from Stockton residents who have long supported Mr. Fab and the Bay Area music scene, homework was done and it turned out, Stockton PD never made such a request.

Mr. Fab took to social media today to clear the air and admit he misinterpreted what was communicated to him previously. In turn, local Stockton residents have thanked him and the controversy appears to be working towards a resolution. 👏

The concert is scheduled for the 4th of July at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. 🎥 @fabbydavisjr1 #stockton #oakland #california #bayarea #hyphy taken in Stockton, California by @209.vibes

Meet Coach Carter, Who Helped 3 Athletes Make It To The NFL

Coach and trainer Vince Carter of Elevate 209, has helped many young men and women over the years through athletics. This year three of them are going to the pros.

Former Lincoln High star Jonah Coleman was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round. Former East Union athlete Zelmar Vedder and Manteca’s Jacob De Jesus signed as free-agents contracts with the Kansas City Chiefs. All@are coming out of college, having all benefited from Carter’s Elevate 209 program since they were young boys.

Vince Carter, the owner of Elevate 209, trained all three football athletes at the CrossFit 209 facility in Stockton. 209 Times has previously interviewed Jonah Coleman as a 209 Athlete of the Week.

Carter has been operating Elevate 209 for 20 years. The program goes beyond just football player, but has helped athletes, boys and girls, of various sports from baseball to softball you name it. Carter says his program is opens to anyone, regardless of talent level, both young and old.

A native of south Stockton, Carter developed a passion for sports and helping his community to combat the stigma and negative influences that too often guide youth in the wrong direction. The direction he’s providing is taking three of those young men to the NFL, and as a Raiders fan- to rival teams. He doesn’t mind that part of course, he’s too busy celebrating their success.

We salute you Coach Vince Carter and the staff of Elevate 209. Keep up the great work. 🫡 @vc209 🏈 @elevate209 🎤 @motecuzoma_sanchez 🎥 @giosportsmedia #stockton #modesto #manteca #209strong taken in The 209 by @209.vibes
