Just a casual mid-air chat… except not really.

Two jumpers, one tangled situation, and zero margin for error. This is where training shows up calm, controlled, and exactly as practiced. They executed flawlessly and rode it safely to the ground.

When the stakes are high, your training can’t be average. It has to be real, because decisions happen fast and they matter.

You either are, or are not.

Good father or not, good husband or not, dedicated employee or not, expert or not, Airborne or not.

You either “are”, or you “are not.” There’s no in between. Stop pretending to be something you aren’t. We know who the pretenders are.

We also know that, @dario_russo7 is now Airborne and has earned his gold wings after completing 10 jumps @x35_airborneschool He is NOT a leg.

Sometimes, when we get our knees in the breeze, our knees go through the trees.

To Frankie’s credit, he was within 50 feet of the ground based marker - X on the DZ.

That first jumper executed a text book PLF.

Honored to be a part of this billboard campaign with @22mohawks advocating for veteran and first responder suicide prevention. I have done lots of photoshoots, commercials, and prints, but this is my favorite one yet. Getting to be a part of something greater than myself with my girlie is really an incredible feeling. Thank you @mind.body.image and @camp.dave for giving me my best friend, life saver, and now billboard partner. I love you guys and this organization. If you (or someone you know) need someone, @22mohawks is always here for you. by @22mohawks

Leadership in suicide prevention carries real weight. The choices we make can affect people we care about. Even when we work to serve the greatest good, some people may disagree with us. And our intentions may not always be understood.

That doesn’t make the impact of those choices less important. It makes humility, listening, and accountability essential. The work asks leaders to stay focused on people and the mission, especially when the decisions are difficult.

These three costs of leadership were first expressed by Coach Isle. We’re grateful for the reminder.

MEET THE JUMPERS | OPERATION VUKOVI 2610

Andy Nunes | Lieutenant, Attleboro Fire Department

"My name is Andy Nunes. I've been a career Lieutenant/Paramedic with the Attleboro Fire Department in Attleboro, MA, since May 2006. I've been involved in Fire/EMS services since I was 18 years old, when I became a Call Firefighter in Dartmouth, MA, a position I still hold today.
My oldest son and I have participated in several 22Mohawks events, including the Father's Day 5-Mile and Medivac Mohawk. We've also helped out and participated in the Rucking for Veterans 22-Mile Ruck on Veterans Day.

Mental health has carried a big stigma in the Fire/EMS fields and has been ignored for far too long. It is only now starting to become more recognized and understood, and it shouldn't be something first responders or military members feel embarrassed or ashamed of.

I'm looking forward to meeting jumpers from all over and sharing in such an incredible experience.
I have two sons. My oldest, Austin, is 21 and working toward a career in law enforcement. He's also participated in the Mohawk Medivac and Father's Day 5-Mile. My youngest son, Jake, is 17 and entering his senior year of high school. He's involved in color guard at school and hopes to pursue a career in nursing and anesthesiology."

🇺🇸 Help Us Pay It Forward To The Next Jumpers!

Andy will be joining us at X35 Airborne School for the 22Mohawks Airborne Operations Course & Retreat, where veterans and first responders come together to reconnect, challenge themselves, and build lasting bonds through shared experiences.

🐾 Yesterday we paired Army Veteran Johnny with K9 Ranger in Illinois! 🇺🇸

22Mohawks has been supporting the Illinois veteran and first responder community since 2022 with the help of our incredible trainer, Dylan at DK9 Services.

This pairing is a great example of the power of community and simply spreading the word. Dylan shared a post about two available pups, Rangers Creed Whiskey shared it, and Johnny happened to see it. He reached out, and now Ranger has come into his life at an important time when he was looking for a companion.

A huge thank you to Justin and Rangers Creed Whiskey for sponsoring Ranger and helping the Illinois 22Mohawks Community grow, and to Dylan for coordinating this pairing and continuing to support every pup we place in Illinois.

Welcome to the 22Mohawks family, Johnny & Ranger! 🐾 by @22mohawks

A big thank you to Kerry, Chris and K9 Faelan for representing 22Mohawks today at the 5th Annual Stand Down for Veterans, hosted by the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center!

We’re incredibly grateful for our volunteers who give their time to help us get out into communities, connect with veterans, first responders and their families, and share the programs and resources available through 22Mohawks.
