Off for a trip to the west coast to see family and attend the @overlandexpo - looking at truck camper setups. This Harvest Label 3-way bag is a real gem. It’s from their bullet line and while no longer made can be found for reasonable prices. It has the perfect dimensions (inches) 16.14 × 11.61 × 2.76–4.72 in. It functions well as a shoulder or brief but if you have a long transit, the option of the backpack straps is 🤌🤌. The cubes are the small size from Triple Aught Design and really hold their shape when stuffed. I can travel indefinitely with this setup and recently did a 2 month around the world trip with just three of the cubes. @arch_ind 22L Grisetti in dyneema ready for her maiden voyage - 10 days in Mexico, meeting my daughter for some scuba diving, should be fun. First time loading the bag - have a bunch of options when it comes to cubes and happy with it. Bag held quite a bit without having to use the roll top:

1. Triple Aught Design - Small and Medium transport cube for clothes - basically 3 pair of Patagonia baggies and some lightweight shirts.

2. Tom Bihn clear pouch as a dopp and medical kit.

2. Triple Aught Design Padded Transport cube VX - small - mask and accessories.

3. Mafia Bags tote - for the boat mainly - made from sailcloth, packs flat behind everything. (Use this all the time - mainly groceries)

4. Topo Designs small packing cube - has a bunch of energy bars and such for the boat. Will travel back empty.

5. Triple Aught Design Transport sleeve for the laptop - a great item, padded, waterproof(?) and holds the cables and such.

6. GoPro Case - my daughter wanted my GoPro and accessories, so it will not be coming back with me.

7. A book - probably toss a second one on as well.

Last pic is the dump pouch that clips on the front - will have a pair of flops and some flight or last minute stuff. The pocketing on the front is plush lined to hold my sunglasses.

Bag is pretty dense - 17lbs. but not tightly packed - zips easy, has some space plus the roll top. Belated Mail Call here - had Arch_ind build a dyneema set for me, 22L travel bag, pouches and this sling. Here's a quick writeup on the sling.

For the sling, I wanted the admin to be under the flap as I have another bag where it is and liked the setup - Andrea took it and ran with it. He added the bungee to keep a rain coat attached (it's black but reversed it so you could see the coat) and bottle/stuff pockets on each side. The admin on the front is several layers and holds multiple writing instruments, field notes, a5 notebook, travel wallet and a zipped pocket. Inside is more admin along with a divider with loop on it. To that, I added one of the TBB mods (they come in handy if you always add loop to your builds). The strap is from dsptch with a domke pad on it - move this setup from bag to bag. Carried this pouch from @sample.matsuda around the world and then some - been a Dopp kit, tech kit and now serves as an art kit of sorts. I did make one mod by carefully removing the inserts that line the exterior panels (sorry Dan 🙃) - I really like the feel of the pouch to be soft but the inserts might have caused it to wear a little less - not sure. Traveling Light - one bag

Pretty much an indefinite travel loadout - I may drop an item and add an item but after several trips and seeing what works an doesn’t, this pretty much gets the job done.

Bag is a Hyperlite Elevate 22L - this will work until @arch_ind gets my set built.

➡️Station XV Passport Wallet - really just use it to hold cards, cash, passport, “business papers,” etc...

➡️3 Triple Aught Design transport cubes, size small - I need to take a picture of the loadouts by cube but this is what I carry: 3 tech shirts, 2 lightweight pants, 2 merino underwear, 1 merino full bottoms (for the lightweight pants on cold days), 2 pair of merino socks, 2 pair of shorts, 1 lightweight button down shirt, 1 merino henley - on travel days, I’m wearing a heavier pair of pants, tech tee, cotton button down shirt (outerknown utilitarian) plus socks and underwear.

TLDR: Finally found a Packolab Travel Pack in Ultra—comfortable, feature-rich, and doing well on a 10–20 day trip. Still looking for Packolab pouches and such.

Long version…
After a year and a half of hunting, I finally tracked down a Packolab travel pack in Ultra. Borys just confirmed that he doesn’t plan to make more—so I’m really glad I managed to grab this one.

For my needs—travel, not EDC—this pack has been excellent. I’ve put in 25+ miles over the last few days with it fully loaded and it’s been comfortable throughout. The admin layout, pocketing, and overall feature set are really well thought out.

This trip is running 10–20 days, and so far the bag has handled everything: planes, trains, ferries, Ubers, and plenty of time on my back. More than capable. Pics are from this morning when I was packing up.

This 22L pack from Arch_ind in dyneema served me well on a 16 day trip to Mexico - took this amusing video on the train at the DFW airport.
