The “Culinary Assassin” of 25 Degrees, Chef Lucio Martínez does it again.

He recently decided he wanted to change up the chili to a new recipe. To his own recipe. At first we were a little skeptical because we’ve already got award winning chili that had won the @hbdowntownusa “Chili at the Beach” Chili Cookoff in 2023 and 2024.

We decided to sit out 2025 and focus on other areas of the business and fast forward to about 2 weeks ago when this conversation of changing the chili came up.

It was decided on that if we do the chili cookoff and the new recipe wins our 3rd year in a row of 25° participating in the chili cookoff, then sure let’s do it and if not then we keep it as is.

And in the process of trying the chili creations it became apparent that this new chili recipe was way too good to not do something with. Everything you’d want in a chili. And that’s without cheese and sour cream added. On the chili dog, boom 👉 flavor. Dipped with some sourdough toast, boom 👉 flavor. On its own, boom again 👉 flavor.

So we won HB’s best chili and now the new recipe stands to be added onto the menu soon. It’s a must have so stay tuned for when it’s officially added. For now, come down to 25° for locals Monday deal and get local favorites for $7, $10, and $17 and add a bowl of chili to it to warm yourself up.

Thank you to the city of HB for having so many great events to bring the community together. Thank you to HB residents and everyone who attended the chili cookoff for voting for us, we really appreciate you. Thank you thank you thank you. From all of us at 25°, we appreciate each and every single one of you that makes 25° so great.

In the last year and a half since June 2025, we have won HB’s Best Burger, Best Happy Hour, and Best Chili.

Our goal is to bring food/drinks and a dining experience to everyone that is exceptional and equivalent to fine dining at an everyday eats price. We love music and sports and we want to enjoy that with you too. We want you to have THEE… best experience in downtown HB. We love being a part of it. And we love that you are too.

For those that missed the chili cook off today, you can still get our new chili recipe anytime soon. The overall consensus is that people love it so we are happy to get the great feedback from the community.

The restaurants open, kitchen until 9, bar once it slows down. $1 Buffalo Wings and football menu in full effect.

Chili at the Beach HB Chili Cook Off is rain or shine! But if you ask us, some chili with the weather a little colder and wet out is even better than a hot day eating chili.

Once we know the location of our booth assignment we’ll blast it out to socials. Tell your friends and come downtown to hang and try many great chili’s. We’re excited to share ours with you that we felt beats the flavor on our own award winning chili.

See you tomorrow. Come hungry and thirsty. After you eat chili, stop by 25° for a cocktail, a grilled cheese, some football and $1 Buffalo wings.

We’re back tomorrow at the @hbdowntownusa Chili at the Beach Chili Cookoff.

25 Degrees won the award for Best Chili 2 years in a year in 2023 and 2024. As we went through the change in ownership we felt like the focus was best on the transition. Now that we are in full effect, we’re back.

The chili you life so much is still served and our guests come in constantly for it. So we decided, in a sense, to out do ourselves this time around and see if we can make our already back to back award winning chili even better.

Tell your uber to take you to downtown HB near Main St and you’ll likely hear the music when you get out of your ride.

Enjoy dancing and having a killer time with amazing cocktails, good vibes and energy, good people, and an environment that feels like an underground club in Brooklyn or Downtown LA.

The air show is in FULL EFFECT in Huntington Beach! ✈️🍹

Make 25 Degrees your home base. Grab an air show themed cocktail, order some food and hang in the AC after a day at the Pacific Air Show. If you’re not from the area and have a friend in town, have them bring you and 5 new first time 25 guests and the inviter gets a free entree. Show them the post in our feed or the image on our front page of the website.

There’s no better way to wrap up a good day and enter the evening with a delicious smash burger (or any burger on the menu) or a good old-fashioned cocktail, the best in HB (and best whiskey selection in downtown HB).
