I love using @tinysproutsfoods to add real nutrients to my children’s food! My oldest is a great eater but my twins are more hit or miss with things. Plus with Claire’s allergies it can be harder to make sure she’s getting everything she needs. Love that I can add some Tiny Sprouts & know they are getting the extra boost needed in their food. And they have no clue it’s there! We’ve been really loving the Gut & Immunity boosters. With back to school & flu season starting up I love knowing they are getting a natural & organic boost! After several hospital visits between the twins the past month. And day 4 of solo parenting. I’m running on 4 hours of sleep & decided it was time to deep clean then finally decorate for fall! I love to use Branch Basics for everything. But it is amazing against grease! Also it keeps stubborn breastmilk spots from reappearing on cabinets. Pumping moms, you probably know what I mean. FreshOrr Farm candles are the only candles I’ve used since 2021. Obsessed with my new acacia pumpkin board. Honestly I leave my LeCreuset pumpkin butter dish out all year. But I get the big pumpkin out during fall. I’m not 100% on the stove skirt. Loving how the mini wreaths turned out though! And I’m crashing for the night! Today I reached adulthood by Hobbit standards. 33 years old. We did all the Hobbit meals & hiked Old Man’s Cave. My favorite hike with my favorite humans. A bit more to pack up for a hike in the hocking hills than just a few years ago. But well worth it. Day 5 of solo parenting while my pilot is in training. Restocking all things clean! I restock sprays usually every 2-3 weeks. Fizzies & dishwasher tablets are monthly. Growing season is here! Last week was the second box from Schultz Valley Farms. This is our 5th year buying from them. Absolutely love them & so grateful for their Farm to Fork CSA program. We got 2 flats of strawberries & chicken maple sausages. Strawberries are a favorite here so I try to preserve as many as I can. Another 2 flats will arrive on Tuesday & most of that will go to jam making this week. I’ll dry some again. And as always my children will eat a few pints. I always save the tops of the strawberries for syrup. They just go into the freezer till I’m ready to make it. Strawberry jam is an easy make. I cut 16 cups of strawberries up, added 5 cups sugar (recipe calls for 9 but we don’t use a ton of sugar here) & 1/2 cup of lemon juice. No store bought pectin use here. Just personal preference. Mashed them with a potato masher. I also tend to immersion blend once they’ve cooked down some. I let them thicken till it passes the gel test. Then pour into washed ball jars. Use superb canning lids. Which are my favorite ever. And put into my all American canner to water bath. To use as a water bath canner you put lid on but don’t tighten down & leave the weight off so no pressure builds. 10 minutes after boiling starts, 5 minutes to rest & then set on counter overnight. My toddler was constantly asking “is this the front?” Then I found @pennyspixies . Created to build independence & inspired by a child born blind.
