In the past week, we’ve been reading “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” and capturing the gems within this book. As the book develops, it gets deeper into understanding self through the power of the mind. While the book itself is a tool, it offers different techniques and methods to reprogram the mind from automated actions society program within us to connecting with the natural cycle of life by strengthening connection to Nature.

Etymology of Devotion: “dedicate by a vow, sacrifice oneself, promise solemnly”
•
Do we really know sacrifice? Or are we trapped in survival? To be devoted to self is to dedicate life to the journey of growth. We easily become swallowed by darkness and treat light as if it’s foreign or something we don’t know. When you find the light within, life will reward you with clarity. We focus much of our time on the conscious reality as if it is all that life is when in reality, the subconscious mind is the underlying foundation that allows the unmanifest to become manifested. With so much going on in the world, we forget to do the simplest thing, SMILE. If you allow life and circumstances to dictate your will, you fall out of pure consciousness, pure potentiality. We become subjects to the things we see, allowing a false perception to decide our truth. Find self, find the light and live in truth. Life on Earth is the tangible reality sought after without knowledge of how to be.
Meditate daily. Sit in silence and observe self. Find peace and joy in all that you do. Life is the opportunity to make the impossible, POSSIBLE. It all starts with knowing self.

As we grow older and become adults, we learn we now must parent self. We begin to accept our parents as people, individuals on their path learning their way. We see them as everything as children and as adults, we are able to recognize their flaws. No one person is perfect. And while that may be true, there’s never been a time my Mother let me down. Yes, we may have disagreed, but she has always accepted me with open and loving arms. You did not bring me into this world, but you gave me life. You are not perfect but you and my Father did beyond the best you could. I’m grateful for life.

So many times, we feel the weight of the world on our shoulders and feel a sense of moral obligation to humanity. In order to contribute to society, we must first align internally with your Higher Self, with the God/Goddess within. We try to be perfect for everyone else without first accepting we are also human. There may be times when we stray away but awareness brings us back into the present, grounding us in the NOW. Life is a learning experience and to find your way, you must endure the journey; be willing to go through things without knowing the outcome and seeking a sense of certainty. KNOW that your power comes from growing through the experience.

As people, we naturally want to connect with other individuals. In the purest way, our most authentic interactions arrive when we are strangers. The more we are involved and the more we interact, the less we view people in truth due to personal perspectives developing from the time spent. It’s easy to say you love someone when you haven’t spent time with their spirit. The more interaction, the more “feelings” get involved, whether it be platonic or intimate;we tend to steer away from truth. The truth becomes hidden behind a veil of expectations and personal opinion. It’s easier to blame another person for negative feelings derived in that relationship but it is self that we must hold accountable. Without personal boundaries, we allow self to be disrespected and walked over attempting to play the “nice guy.” Others treat you how they see you treating self. In order to create love within your relationships, you must first emanate love within.
