Always been an observer. Anthropological analyst. Sociological researcher. Psychological profiler. Astrology enthusiast. Mental health obsessedé. Never felt welcome to society.
Always fantasised about being a leaf or a tree branch or even a piece of soil so I can be still, hidden, safe, out of reach but still able to absorb everything, study everything, understand everything and make sense of the world. Watching it happen is safer than taking part in it.

Last weekend I got diagnosed with Autism and ADHD.
Turns out medicating me for depression and anxiety was a cop out. The same way in which a year of CBT led to nothing but a shit ton of money wasted and the conclusion that the more self aware you are, the slower your therapist.

Is a career that centres networking ever going to be possible with someone with my social lacunas? Stay tuned innit let’s find out:)))

I rarely get earnest online. I don’t get it and I think it’s cringe really but that said, I need all the advice I can get. I’d love to hear from other late diagnosed creatives. How are you coping? How are you making your money? How are you accommodating yourselves? How and who do you share your diagnosis with? Can you realistically have a sustainable, long term, bill paying creative career? What systems have helped?
