i dont even know where to start… mommy… i wish you had told me how sick you were. i wish i had known, so i could have taken care of you the way you always took care of me. my love for you is endless it’s different. you weren’t just my mother you were my best friend. you’ve always been with me, and i know you’ll continue to be with me, in my heart, wherever i go. you pushed me through the hardest challenges in basketball, in school, in life. you taught me discipline, hard work, independence. you stood by me through every storm.we had our ups and downs, but that’s what real love between a mother and daughter looks like. i will miss your laugh, your smile, your energy, your scent… ill miss our travels, our pictures and videos, those early morning gym sessions, running and dancing in Zumba at 6am.ill miss our talks the way i could tell you anything and you’d understand me like no one else could. you were the warmth of my heart. now, i don’t have that phone call or text anymore. but i know you’re still listening.
mami, i promise you i finish what i started. i will chase my dreams in basketball. i will become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. i will continue to grow into the best version of myself for me, for Julito, and for you. i will be the role model you raised me to be.
you made me strong. you were my role model a hardworking single mother who raised three children alone in the United States, working three jobs to give us everything we needed. i admire your strength more than words can express. ididn’t want to say goodbye so soon… but i know you’re in a better place now, with God, free from pain. you’re my angel now.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Emily Guillen! Coach Emily played collegiate basketball at Florida State College at Jacksonville and made her mark locally as a three-year varsity player at Palm Beach Central High School, where she helped build a winning culture and contributed to multiple district championships. In addition to coaching, Emily is pursuing her goal of becoming a Sports Physical Therapist, combining her passion for basketball with her interest in athlete development and performance.
