Sunny the Guinea Pig is visiting this wheek wheek wheek (couldn't resist the sound effects 😂) and decided to get into the spirit of the season. 🕷

I have to say, she is much cuter than many other creepy crawlies that might find their way into our RV.

That being said, we do also have an actual jumping spider named Shrimp visiting with us in her custom habitat.

Never a dull moment. And we like it that way.

We have an Open Nest Policy 🪺 with our young adult kiddos. We love to see them fly, and they always have a safe place to land with us.

As much as we love being on the road together, having one or both of the kids with us honestly makes the experience even better.

Taking advantage of a brief break from college studies to hang out with Mom and Dad? A win-win if you ask me (plus, she takes advantage of going to Costco with us for grocery runs so she can get extra snacks.)

A few more days here before we head off for our next adventure! 🏕

I've had this dream of owning a RV and traveling for over 20 years. I'm so glad my husband was right on board with this too! 🚙

Who knew a girl from Queens NYC 🗽 would find herself willingly living in a metal box on wheels in the woods with a guy who grew up in the country 🤠?

Now, granted, this @brinkley_rv is rather swanky and a lot nicer than the tiny apartments in NYC that prepared me for small spaces. 😂 In fact, it's a lot nicer than our last home. The only thing I miss — besides our neighbors — is my big garden.

The past 6 years of hubby working mostly remotely at home while I ran my Reiki and spiritual coaching business partly from home means we are used to being in proximity to each other every day for hours. 🤣 HOURS AND HOURS.

Seriously, though, we're a good team and I think we balance out each other's strengths and weaknesses pretty well (although this definitely has us stretching our growing edges 🫣). This is what happens when you put a Virgo ♍️ with a Sagittarius ♐️!

We're excited to have you follow along with us on our adventures! (Meanwhile, I'm still figuring out how to take @dragonflyreikiatlanta on the road with me, aside from the Zoom sessions I already offer.)

We're back at Stone Mountain Campground for the week (hey ya ATLiens! 👽) after getting through a night of wind and rain from 🌀 Isaiahs at Cheaha State Park ... and are embracing cozy season!

Our daughter is with us for the week, and has been helping decorate. (No doubt there will be *more* Fall decor as the week goes on 🎃)

Can't wait for the sun to set so we can get the camp fire 🔥 started, make some smores, and see those string lights glow!

Branch Manager Mary Shelley Kate visited Bald Rock and gets to add Cheaha State Park, AL to her stick herding responsibilities. It's a tough job, but she's got the skills. 🪵

I think she needs little park patches for her harness as we continue RV traveling. Wouldn't that be cute?

Just when we thought we might squeak through hurricane season without an actual storm. 😢

Last night, I saw how the forecast was shaping up for TS Isaiahs this weekend and told my husband we needed to cancel our reservations at Ft. Pickens National Seashore, which we did. 🌀

I just saw this post on FB from the Gulf Islands National Seashore, so even if I hadn't proactively made that decision, they already made it for me.

I'm sad because Ft. Pickens is one of my very favorite places, but you can't reason with hurricane season. 😵‍💫

Hoping everyone at the campgrounds gets out safely and easily!

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a drive from our campsite, so we decided to do one of our favorite activities: checking out waterfalls!

We visited Dry Falls, a 75 ft waterfall that is part of the Upper Cullasaja River in the Nantahala National Forest. 🌄

My husband apparently rapelled 🧗‍♂️ into this area with adventure racing buddies during a frigid winter day many years ago, and described how the falls were frozen 🥶.

What makes this one special is that you can walk behind the waterfall as it flows down the overhanging bluff!

Aside from some light spray, visitors remain sheltered while experiencing the thunderous sound and volume of water as it tumbles down to the rocks below.

There are stairs to get to the waterfall pathway and it's a fairly easy and short walk behind the waterfall and back. (Not accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, or some other mobility aids, but I think there is a viewing platform by the parking lot.)

We were looking for a fun place to spend a few days in the mountains, and my husband found @magicalmountainresorts in Hayesville, NC. 🏕 As soon as I saw the fairytale-themed campground and 30/50 electric + water RV slips right next to the stream, I was all in! 🧚‍♀️ 🏰

This adorable dog-friendly RV resort sits on 11 acres, and backs up to the Nantahala National Forest, with a petting farm (goats! pigs! donkeys! Patagonian mara!) 🐐 🐖 🫏 fairytale-themed cabins, and fairy gardens scattered throughout. ✨️

If you're a rockhound like we are, the muscovite mica scattered everywhere is its own kind of magical fairy sparkle! (My husband went panning in the stream behind the RV — no gold, but he had lots of fun!)

If you're a kid at heart or are looking for a fun place to bring your kids, this is it.

In fact, I struck up a conversation with a mom from Decatur GA (where we lived for the past 20+ years until just recently) who was there on a last-minute trip with her daughter and friend for Fall Break. We chatted while the girls waded in the stream looking for cool rocks. 🤩

I was opening up the bunkroom slides when we got to our next RV site...and saw two little eyes staring at me from the wall hook. 🐸

It ain't easy bein' green, but he sure is cute!

Of course, I got distracted for a moment and now I don't know where Froggie went. 🫪

I fully expect to have the bejesus scared out of me at some really unexpected time. 🤣 Stay tuned.

It isn't a proper walk if Mary Shelley Kate doesn't find a (large) tree branch to bring back home or to the RV site. 🪵

She was the official "Branch Manager" in our old neighborhood, and has quickly resumed those duties while on the road. 🏕 Border Collies love to work and instead of herding sheep, she gathers firewood. 🤣

The job doesn't come with any pay or great benefits, but maybe we can sew mini campground badges onto Shelley's harness every time she unlocks a new "Branch Manager" achievement. ⚜️

I won't bore you with all the details of why it took us so long to get the tag for our @brinkley_rv Z3610 but it finally got done, and we decided to hit the road.

Our first adventure is....Atlanta. 😂😂😂

I had to take care of a couple of things here, so we're staying at Stone Mountain Campground. We have a site right near the lake, so I know we will get lots of walks in. (If you're one of our ATL friends — come visit while we're here!)

We made a lot of rookie mistakes getting this rig on the road and set up last night (if you do RV travel, you know what one of those mistakes is just from that sentence 🤣) but it's sweet to have her here among the trees. 🌳
