Willow is ready to find her forever family! ❤️

Willow was rescued in April 2026 and has been getting lots of love, care, and training while waiting for her forever home. At 50 pounds, she’s a wonderful companion who absolutely loves human affection, cuddles, and being close to her people.

🐱 Not a fan of cats
💉 Spayed & fully vaccinated
🦟 Current on flea & tick prevention

Kieran is looking for his forever home !

At only 6 months old he came to the rescue after he was found dumped in a remote area of the desert. He is your typical Belgian Malinois / Shepherd with a lot of energy and playfulness. He needs a home who can keep him busy and work with training him to be the best he can be! He plays well with other dogs that match his energy and keep up. He does well on the leash and is house and crate trained!

He is available through Jill's Acres in Palmdale, CA.

Everyone, meet Willow! ❤️

Willow is the newest member of our rescue family. She was saved from a high-kill shelter just in time, but her journey hasn't been easy. When we rescued her, she was very sick and battling pneumonia. She arrived at the shelter with milk but no puppies 😢 Despite everything she's been through, Willow has shown incredible strength and resilience. Dog friendly and loves kids. Craves human affection Vaxxed and Spayed

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Fernando is looking for a loving forever home following the tragic passing of his mom, Jacqueline Falk, daughter of the late Peter Falk.

Before her death, Jacqueline reached out for help because her greatest concern was making sure Fernando would be safe and loved. We are committed to honoring that wish.

Fernando is a sweet boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Like anyone who has experienced such a profound loss, he will need a patient, compassionate person or family who will give him the time and understanding he needs to adjust and heal.

He has lost the person he loved most, but he still has so much love to give. We believe there is someone out there who can give Fernando the second chance his mom hoped he would have.

It is with heavy hearts that we share some very sad news about our beloved Fernando, who was adopted two years ago.
We recently learned that his owner tragically passed away by suicide. Our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time.
Fernando is now in need of a loving forever home once again. He is currently staying at a doggy daycare, but this is only a temporary arrangement, and we need the community's help to find him a safe, stable, and caring family as soon as possible.

URGENT. 💥💥💥Trazodone isn't helping. CBD isn't helping. Nothing seems to be helping. FIREWORKS IS NOT HELPING
I'm desperately looking for a temporary foster home for my rescue dog through July 6th in an area that is free from fireworks. Her anxiety is escalating, and it's only going to get worse as the holiday approaches. She has chewed her paws and mouth until they're bloody.
I came home to find her in terrible condition today. Last night, I spent hours lying with her in the closet, under blankets with the volume turned up, trying to help her feel safe.
If anyone can provide a quiet, firework-free environment for the next couple of weeks, please reach out. I'm simply trying to do what's best for her.

Slow with warming up to humans. She's not aggressive just becomes frozen when touched. She loves to be around other playful dogs or alone. She stays close but prefers distance due to her upbringing. Can you believe it’s been almost a year since Journey came into the care of Second Chance Dog Foundation? ❤️
This month brought an unexpected veterinary emergency after Journey managed to eat part of a Barbie head, leading to costly medical care. Now that her yearly rescue anniversary is approaching, she is also due for her follow-up appointment, vaccines, and routine shots.
Any donation amount, big or small, would truly help us continue providing Journey with the care she needs and deserves. Thank you for always supporting our rescue dogs and helping us give them a second chance. 🐾 by @2ndchancedogfoundation

Today marks the 3-year anniversary of losing my beloved dog, Sienna. At the time, I was still new to rescue and still learning how quickly fear can take over when a dog escapes your yard. I struggled so hard to keep her contained, and every time one of my dogs got out, my mind would immediately spiral into the terrifying thought of them being hit by a car.

That fear became reality the day my son and I watched Sienna get struck by a car while the driver kept going. It is a pain and trauma I would never wish on anyone else to experience.

Three years later, the heartbreak still feels heavy. We miss you so much, Sienna. 🕊️ by @2ndchancedogfoundation

Drake 🤍
The first time I heard about Drake, he had already been returned to the shelter multiple times by an owner who couldn’t keep him contained. Somehow, he kept ending up back where no dog deserves to be. But something about him reached all of us here in Antelope Valley—and I knew I had to go get him.
When I rescued Drake, things didn’t get easier right away. I received threats from his previous homeless owner claiming I had stolen him. Wanting to keep Drake safe, I made the difficult decision to send him to Just for Jack’s Ranch and Sanctuary in Colorado, hoping he’d finally have stability.
But over time, it became clear that something wasn’t right. The owner, Drew, was not caring for the dogs properly, and what we later learned was a hoarding situation eventually led to the rescue’s closure. Before that happened, we worked with local shelter staff to track where Drake would go. Christine drove out to Wyoming and brought him back.
From that moment on, I made him a promise: he would never be displaced again. He would live the rest of his life safe, loved, and at home. And that’s exactly what he did.
Drake was the silliest senior boy. He ruled the house in his own quiet way. He didn’t like rough play—he’d bark at the other dogs like he was laying down the law, earning the name “Sheriff Drake.” All the dogs respected him. And we let him do exactly what he wanted: sleep, eat his soft treats, and just be.
I realized that my promise to Drake needed to go even further. I made the decision to transfer our adoptable dogs to another rescue so I could fully focus on the ones who needed lifelong care—the ones like Drake, and like Journey, who is fearful of humans but finds comfort with other dogs. I couldn’t imagine sending them back into a system that had already failed them.
The adoptable dogs found beautiful homes. And I stayed true to my promise.
Drake stayed with me.
Caring for a senior dog isn’t easy—it’s costly, emotional, and demanding. But loving Drake was never a question. He deserved every bit of it and more after everything he had been through.

As we work to responsibly close our rescue, we still have 2 dogs who rely on us for ongoing medical care — including Drake, our 13-year-old Husky who needs monthly arthritis injections and allergy medication to stay comfortable.
We’re asking for support to cover their:

🐾 Vet visits and follow-up care

Journey truly lives up to her name. She was found living in Lake Los Angeles with a pack of stray dogs and was safely trapped and taken to the shelter—but escaped the very next day and survived on the streets for months.

After tracking her sightings across the Antelope Valley and seeing her three different times, I finally worked with a trapper to safely bring her into my rescue.

Today, Journey is the last dog in my rescue still waiting for her forever home. Despite her past, she walks well on a leash, is house-trained, does well with dogs of all sizes, and is gentle with young children.

Journey is shy with people and will need a patient, loving home willing to give her time to build trust. For the right family, she will be an incredibly special companion with a story of resilience and hope. by @2ndchancedogfoundation
