Glued Ecstasy – 90s Rave Posters is the third exhibition in a series dedicated to paraphernalia from the techno scene, curated by Berlin-based archivist and collector @303basti.

The show examines the visual strategies used to reach a specific audience in a specific time. What kind of imagery was chosen to communicate with a scene in the pre-digital era? What information was considered essential on a large A1-format poster, at a time when event websites were still a rarity?

These questions are explored through more than 30 original posters from the 1990s.

The exhibition opens on Thursday, August 14, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with free admission. From Friday through Sunday, it is accessible to visitors of the Wall 2 Wall Festival and the Vinyl Market. taken in RSOberlin by @303basti

"What were the skies like when you were young?"

"They went on forever – They - When I - We lived in Arizona, and the skies always had little fluffy clouds in 'em, and, ... they were long... and clear and... there were lots of stars at night. And, when it would rain, it would all turn - it- They were beautiful, the most beautiful skies as a matter of fact. The sunsets were purple and red and yellow and on fire, and the clouds would catch the colours everywhere. That's, neat 'cause I used to look at them all the time, when I was little. I am glad to have been asked to be one of the speakers at the Dancecult Conference 2025 during this year's @ctmfestival on 'preserving and archiving electronic music and dance cultures.' As some of you may or may not know, I digitize, archive and catalog media from and about the techno scene (a mirror of the 80+ TB is open for public research at @archiv_der_jugendkulturen). An important part of it are of course fanzines / mags, so I also scanned (almost) all issues of Raveline magazine, which got published from 1993 - 2012.

My buddy and former Raveline graphic designer @gubot5000 has now taken the trouble to acquire the trademark rights to Raveline and create a great site for the archive. A huge treasure trove of information and inspiration!
