The beginning of Summer (2025) with @gabbrrrr @pola.hmn @naoto_lvl_

I went to Vienna and Prague with a few friends.
Here’s one of my favorite film rolls so far, shot with Cinestill 400D @cinestillfilm

It’s my first time shooting fully in manual mode, and it’s the first roll I’m truly proud of. Taking the time to compose, frame, and direct each shot helped me see the world differently. And I love that feeling. by @305takemi

NATION - part 2

How you can make this simple Hyperlapse effect.

An hyperlapse, it’s a variation of the Timelapse. Where your footage is accelerated.

It’s a summary of pictures, follows the same point, here my point is the head of Ryoma Statue.
You have to take a lot of picture, with a point where it’s always the same. And you just have to move, I recommend to make just one step, take a picture and repeat this magical advice !

You have to take 24 images for one second, don’t forgot the most common FPS (frames per second is 24ips (image per second). So if you want a video during 2 sec, you have to take 48 image and for 4sec, you have to take 96 images.

After this put all the image in a edit app, in the right order. Nest all the image in a sequence (imbriquée toutes les images en 1 seul), in première pro, it is a right click of your selection, and scroll to find nest.
After this you have to just adapt the time with your photo, if you take 96 pictures, you must set the time to 4 seconds.

This camera movement is call Forward dolly, and dolly in the front.

It is the same principe than a backwards dolly (dolly in the back) but the storytelling is different.

This camera movement improve your subject. It’s look more important. Because we going directly face to face.
When your forward dolly is fast, it’s add precipitation and look like a battle, a confrontation.
But when it is really slow, this add more pro et of your character, he knows her subject, he is powerful. Because the camera comes to him.

So you have a little difference with fast and slow forward dolly. And also with backward dolly.

If you zoom in or out a dolly zoom, it’s can add more effect, like add fast and importance, or strange if you make the opposite movement (vertigo effect/dolly zoom). But I will make a video about this effect soon.

Some people make mistakes about camera movement. Often between this one and the pan (panoramique).

This camera movement is call a Dolly but you can call it by backwards dolly or Dolly in the back.

For making this movement the axe of your camera is moving. You can use a tripod with rollers, your hand or whatever as long as the camera is moving forward or backward.

When the movement is long, and the camera go backwards, it shows that something is ending.

But when the movement is short, and the camera go backwards, it shows a depth on your image. This is usually used for storytelling, and not have a banal fixed plan, because when you don’t have action in your frame, the spectators lose her interest so the cameraman make a little movement.

Perhaps if you make this camera movement you don’t have to zoom or dezoom during the same shoot. Because if you zoom or dezoom, this make an another feelings, (vertigo effect or zolly effect).

I can also created another video where I explain this Oppenheimer setting color garde ! Just ask me and I do !

You can color grade a day for night just with your phone.

But what’s is Day for Night. It’s a cinematography technique for use sunlight to turn it on moonlight. So you shot during the day and after you have to post production your footage. With some trials, you can have a great effect.

On this shot, I want to have the La La Land color palette. So I make it, and I share it with you. But it’s for an image like this, with a plain blue sky, perhaps you can change a little some setting to have the same effect with another condition.

You can use Lightroom to color grade with your phone, and use the free version of this app. It is really complete.

You want to make this shoot with nothing ?

I just use one light. A back light. It’s the ceiling light.

You have to make your subject or you in front of the light, a little underexposed. And that is.

You have a great edging (liseré in French). With this technique, you are making a backlight.

You can use every type of light, like a phone light or the Sun.

After taking your photo, you can make a little color grade, by changing the highlights and the color of your light. You have just to play with buttons or settings ! by @305takemi

You don’t use your phone camera correctly !

🌊

Your phone camera can look great. But you have to make some little settings on this.

1/ You have to go in your camera setting and select 4K/24ips (image per second) or if you don’t have, you can use 1080p/24ips. It’s the most useful frame rate in cinema.

2/ In your camera setting select the grid (the third grid, also named the rules of third)

3/ Now you have to go directly in your camera app. And press for a long time on the place to be focusing (net area), after this you have to scroll a little bit the exposition (the little sun on the right of the square). Because phone camera is most often overexposed images with AI, it select every light in what it see.

4/ Choose a good angle. You can help you with the line and the grid.

5/ Attention to the lighting, the naturel light is your best friend at the beginning. For make a great image with only Sun in light you have to respect the 30* light angle. So for doing that the Sun have to be 30* in your left or right. (I will make an explanation video soon).

You have all tips to have a great image with your phone now ! I hope, he was greatly !
