Back from another great trip to Meadow Lake! We are so blessed to have family that lives up there and loves heading out in the bush as much as we do. You never know what you’ll end up seeing as you head down some of these trails that haven’t been used for many years. If these trees could talk, what would they tell us? We cooked up some great food in the evenings, but devoured them before we could get any pictures…. Alabama white sauce chicken, jalapeno poppers, fish, Mexican street corn, burnt ends and stuffed mushroom caps. This was our 4th year doing this now and wouldn’t miss it for anything. 5 years ago I had a good friend pass away and I always told myself that someday I would go riding with him. I’ll never forget getting the phone call from his wife that he has passed away, we were fishing on the river at Nipawin. I told myself that day that priorities need to change, so here we are. Clarence, I wish we could have done this together! Take a step back and look at your life, are there things you are putting off because you think you are too busy? If life were to change today would you have regrets? Use the time that God has given you on this earth wisely! by @306bbq

Well that was a fun couple of days! We haven’t been camping without kids in over 20 years, it was strange but also nice. We didn’t have cell service we we got to be completely unplugged. Spent countless hours on the lake fishing, I can’t even begin to count how many fish we caught. We were blessed with amazing weather the entire time. Unfortunately the mosquitoes were enjoying the weather as well so that limited our time around the fire in the evenings. by @306bbq

Thanks to @arthamillpainting for all the work they did on our deck to bring it back to life after getting pummelled by hail last year. As a sign of appreciation I tossed a pork butt on the smoker last night to feed them lunch. The butt was seasoned with Bacon Honey Hog from @holysmokersrubco for the win! by @306bbq
