HE, the one who changed it all. Who’s fathered my kids more than I could’ve ever hoped. His silly dad jokes and dark wit aside, there’s nothing better my kids could learn more from him than being kind beyond words. Humble beyond fault. Wise beyond measure and the truest of good people. Next month, he’ll travel to that mountain. All for a son he never created but stepped in when he was needed most. The lessons he’s taught them without even knowing, the hearts he’s helped heal without burden. It’s always a bittersweet day this, torn between grateful and grief with a gaping hole left by the one who made you my boy, but wrapped in the love of the one who raised you. And man, lucky are we, the ones who got to keep him. ❤️ Today is the twentieth time I’ve woken with the pit of grief in my throat. Of a dad he never knew. Of the hole I’ve tried to fill…but never can. But always n’ forever grateful our broken pieces were put back together. Happy dad’s day to the bloody best I’ve ever known, JB. It’s far too small a word for all you are and all you’ve done but I mean it with every bloody ounce of my soul…and more than ever, just thank god for you. 🙏💙 by @30somethingmama
