“Keep your head to the sky”. Haven just started 4th grade and Jonn and Nathan are in high school. My back hurts every time I say that out loud. I just hope Jayla stays small forever. If this journey has taught me anything is to enjoy every moment, be present because you can’t get them back. I shot this with my #contaxrx on #ilfordpanf. The night I accepted my award, I cried for every moment this industry has given me - the highs as tall as mountains and the unbearable lows.

I never felt I needed validation for my craft, but I fully embrace having it. Thank you to everyone who made this happen: the cast, crew, writers, and producers who trusted me with Louie, and my team who has been in my corner through it all. AND to the community of fans who showed up, voted, shared, and cheered for me - this is yours as much as mine! Let my story fuel whatever you’re chasing. Never quit. I learned that the key to success isn’t who you know, prestige, or luck. @ernestharden told me to focus on the work, advocate for the art. Be prepared, work hard and do the right thing. I am honored to capture these images of Ernest celebrating his win at the Emmys while honoring the late Bette Davis.

On Sept. 6, 2026, The Cheech hosted the “Your Empire” exhibit in which individual artists and community organizations had 1 month to put together visual pieces that showcase what the I.E. means to them. The exhibit was curated by local artists James McClung and Marcus Mercado. Some of Norton journalism students’ photos were featured as part of photo collages created and assembled by the Inland Empire Immigrant Youth Collective @ie_iyc . @swingauditorium performed inside The Cheech at the exhibit’s opening. Photos of local artists @halfwaytoneptune @jared.wright.art @323.raw were featured in the collage along with family/childhood photos and photos documenting student involvement in sports, extracurriculars, and activism.

El 6 de septiembre de 2026, The Cheech presentó la exposición “Your Empire”, en la que artistas individuales y organizaciones comunitarias tuvieron un mes para crear obras visuales que reflejaran lo que el Inland Empire (I.E.) significa para ellos. La muestra fue curada por los artistas locales James McClung y Marcus Mercado.
