COLOR + TRIM • the department that has inspired my fascination with Porsche colors and interiors from the 1970s till today. This 992 represents a span of those decades and pays homage to its designers, two in particular. The color Provence 💜 was inspired by the original Flieder (Moonstone) and created by Daniela Milosevic (L) for the Macan EV launch. The Pasha 🏁 interior and the original Flieder (Moonstone) were created by Vlasta Hatter (R) • Both Daniela + Vlasta have influenced our palettes and I was grateful to spend time with them at Zuffenhausen upon delivery.

My good friend told me I was missing out and Instagram was a haven for cars. I was skeptical at first, just having a bad break up with Facebook. I liked that on Instagram I could remain faceless, nameless and anonymous and share my passion for CARS (and enter MUSIC) with like minded people.
•
What I’ve enjoyed most about Instagram the past few years is actually meeting those I follow (or vice versa) in person. As Porsche says, “there is no substitute”…. for human interaction. Instagram does a great job of connecting people, but nothing connects us more than sharing time together, in the flesh.
•
Here’s to 2024 and finding new roads, new friends, new music and new energy! 🥂

Sitting down with @nicolairichterfriis at @classiccarhousedenmark and talking about Car Culture, Color, and my journeys in storytelling with the @cdc.cph was an amazing way to submerge myself in the rapidly growing scene in 🇩🇰 I recall years ago Jay Leno being fearful in the U.S. that the younger generations wouldn’t take over the reins of this hobby. I think we’ve turned 180 degrees, and I don’t foresee it slowing down anywhere 🏁

The search for a manual trans Ocean Jade Metallic 996 Coupe was very difficult. It took me years. I had seen some on IG, RHD UK cars, Japan cars with Tiptronic trans, and one elusive one hiding in Spain that the owner neglected their IG account in 2021. I also found one in the NL 🇳🇱 with Nephrite interior but was fully repainted in a Fiat flat gray, reminiscent of the greatest colored Porsches being repainted Guards Red in the 1980s.

I think this color is the epitome of late 90s Porsche. A bold turquoise metallic that really accentuates the 986 and 996. A great color to resurrect and bring into the modern lineup to join its PTS sibling Ipanema Blue.

Absolute cinema 🎬

A quick look inside our @classiccarhousedenmark event and @cdc.cph Color Run recognizing @33bosshog and the @rareshades film series. Beyond the Moonstone and Birch Green films, which were screened at the event, Justin’s charisma, documentation, and fastidiousness for the subject of color have deservedly attracted global attention. This event was the latest testament to the gravity of his work.

To end the night on a drive with the local Porsche community was icing on the cake. Thank you, Copenhagen, for showing up to celebrate with us.

Libellturkis (Dragonfly Turquoise) aka Ocean Jade Metallic. A color available starting in 1997 with the 993 and 986 Boxster and carrying into the 996.1 from 1998-99. This car is a 2002 996.2 Carrera that most likely (🕵️‍♂️ speculating here…) The first owner really wanted Ocean Jade Metallic and Porsche fulfilled their wishes via their Paint to Sample program. I really love these light green, turquoise metallics Porsche has sprinkled us over the years … 🩵🏁💚 by @33bosshog

Two for two 🤯 @motorfilmawards

Our second @rareshades film on Birch Green, directed by @capturingthemachine and produced by @33bosshog, has also been nominated for Best Documentary Short by the International Motor Film Awards.

We are so incredibly honored that both Moonstone and Birch Green have been recognized by a global audience. These films are a complement to the “On Color” column we’ve recently explored in @000magazine, and this new medium has unlocked an amazing opportunity to tell the human stories behind these rare colors through Justin and Kevin’s lenses.

Basehog in Stockholm 💜 Provence is a timeless color for me. It’s elegant and understated for everyday wear, but it also has a hidden lavender mystery that makes it extremely unique and captivating. I can’t say I’ve seen Provence replicated in its true lavender form anywhere else. This leads me back to Provence’s genesis with the original Flieder (Moonstone). Both colors make your eye work hard to summon their true magic 🔮. Depending on the light, they shift from gray, mauve, lavender to deep purple ✌️
