Eilean Donan Castle

Mid-90s, photographing this iconic site was one of the moments that shaped how I see the relationship between history and landscape. Slide film allowed me to capture that connection in its truest form.

St. Andrews Cathedral Ruins

Photographing these ruins on film (1990s) taught me to see history as more than just a backdrop. The absence of what once was becomes as important as what remains — a concept that shaped the way I approach storytelling through photography and visual media.

Cawdor Castle

Early in my career, this was a study in structure and detail. Capturing it on slide film helped me understand how even the smallest elements can carry a story.

Palenque!

From my archives, mid-90s.

Originally captured on slide film, this image of Palenque was recently scanned and converted to black and white. The textures and geometry of this ancient Mayan site stand out even more in monochrome.

Popocatépetl bathed in fiery light, captured on slide film in the 1990s. Sunrise or sunset? Even I can’t say for certain, but that ambiguity makes the moment even more compelling. The vivid reds and deep shadows bring out the volcano’s dramatic presence, a striking contrast to the black-and-white frames I’ve shared recently.

This image is part of a larger effort to scan and share work from nearly 30 years of capturing landscapes and stories on film—each frame a piece of the journey.

From the archives: Popocatépetl in the 1990s, captured on film in striking black and white. This image reflects not only the volcano’s timeless grandeur but also the power of storytelling through light and shadow. Revisiting over 25 years of work has been a journey into the moments and landscapes that have shaped my career.

More stories to come as I uncover the narratives hidden within these frames.
