2031 @myan_walker_7 was a PROBLEM this weekend with Team 360‼️🤯 by @360basketballperformance

@360basketballperformance Played UP 17u and went to WORK‼️😤 by @360basketballperformance

The moment an athlete’s behavior doesn’t match what we expect, it’s easy to label the person.
Lazy. Distracted. Difficult. Soft. Selfish.

If we’re being honest, we’ve all done it at some point.. We’ve all judged an athlete through the lens of our own perspective and limited experiences with them.

What if, instead of asking, “What’s wrong with this athlete?” we asked:
- What about this environment might be contributing to these behaviors?
- Have we created enough purpose? Ownership/autonomy? Is there established role clarity?

The label comes quickly, and once it’s there, it’s hard for us to unsee it. Behavior doesn’t happen in isolation, it emerges from the interaction between the athlete and their environment.

What we observe is only part of the story, and what explains it is rarely what we first assume. When we skip curiosity and go straight to a label, we miss an opportunity to understand the behavior and potentially change it over time.

Personality reflects general tendencies, but behavior is shaped by context.

Before deciding who an athlete is... Be curious about what they may be responding to. by @360basketballperformance

Thanks Coach Danny and Coach Harold for everything you have done for me!
