This girl came home yesterday afternoon. On Saturday afternoon I came home to labored breathing. She barely had a cough. She was hospitalized and given oxygen and IV fluids. She responded well to them. I picked her up yesterday and she had a cough worse than she did 24 hours prior. I had to go pick up her meds from costco because the emerg hospital was about to run out.

The meds were 1/3 of the cost and the Costco by the vet actually has them on hand normally. So that’s amazing. She’s on the same meds she was for pneumonia. The chest xray was clear but you can have pneumonia and the chest xray remains clear because it takes 24-48 hours to show up. I will be monitoring her and I most likely will go back before she’s due for her follow up xray. I read her EKG report and because she doesn’t have a heart murmur or an arrhythmia they have ruled out heart issues.heart disease can’t be completed ruled out but the radiologist believes due to her recumbency(the state or position of lying down, resting flat, or leaning back) they are concerned about a reoccurrence of pneumonia. Knowing her cough needed serval rounds of antibiotics I will be moving forward with a procedure called nasal lavage.they put her under and flush everything out and take the samples and culture it. Nothing comes easy for Raven. I strongly believe she has a drug resistant infection. So even though Raven is home resting we need all the good vibes and prayers for her. Today is thanksgiving and even though it’s just another day for me. I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful that both my senior dogs are alive after there recent hospitalizations. I am thankful for the staff at BRIDGEWATER. This beautiful girl wants to wish you a happy thanksgiving weekend. What do you have planned?

We’ll be doing what we always do. Spending the day outside exploring. I’ll get a two day weekend finally.

Stella is back to feeling like herself and is loving her vet diet. All my dogs are weird like that. They are obsessed with the bland gastro food. It’s like liquid gold to them. Yesterday morning Stella woke me up at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep so I took her for a walk at 4:30 and again later that night. Yesterday Stella started not feeling well. I rushed her to the vet because I was worried about her becoming dehydrated. She was diagnosed with hemmoraghic gastro. A week shy of her being hospitalized with the same exact same thing two years ago. HGE can cause death if not treated quickly.

The vet called this morning to let me know that big blue is bright, keeping her food down and has not had any diarrhea. I am so thankful for the exceptional care she’s receiving. A big thank you to BRIDGEWATER vet hospital for taking care of my girl. I’m running in 4 hours sleep and rest to nap. Happy Monday. Pleasantly surprised these turned out. Aspen was riding the trazodone train that day. She sat with her back towards the photographer staring up at the trees with the birds singing and the squirrel squirreling. After her admiring nature they managed to get her photograph ready. Finally got our Heart dog pictures back and I am so in love with them. Last year it rained on the Sunday that Stella and Daisy were scheduled for. So we did them inside and I didn’t post them because my ocd and it would match the ones Raven and Aspen had outside. This year the volunteers from @manitobaunderdogsrescue did them in the same spot because of this. Happy new week yall! Raven did a thing on the weekend. Raven walked a full 30 mins to this one point in the park. Something I’ve taken for granted. She hasn’t been to this feel since last September. I’m so proud of this girl.

We had heart dog pictures on Sunday and the park had an incline. She’s never wheeled up or down one of those yet. Home girl did amazing. She rocked her pictures unlike Aspen who was busy looking at the birds and the squirrels and the opposite way. Fingers crossed that her pictures turned out.

How is everyone’s week going? I’m ready to retire tbh or win the lotto with the cost of life these days 🤣

Life lately. Raven had a wild month last month and was on bed rest for almost a month battling pneumonia. Well baby girl is back to regular walks and she’s loving it. She had massive FOMO when I would be leaving and would cry. I felt so bad. Raven is also killing it at rehab. I notice her legs being stimulated and twitching when I rub her tail. I’m so amazed at her . What’s up for the weekend? I start my part time job tomorrow. Wish me luck

Today is rainbow bridge Remembrance Day. 6 years since both of these beauties left my side. Forever grateful for the time we shared but no amount of time would have ever been long enough. Forever missed always remembered. I will always keep talking about you. You deserve to be remembered.

This girl had her follow up X-ray yesterday. She has been cleared to return back to living her best life. 10 more days of meds to get rid of that nasty pneumonia cough. We return back to her regular scheduled acupuncture and rehab appointments.after everything is all said and done this latest trip cost almost $3500. Thankful for insurance because it cost me $800 after insurance.

I learned a lot about pneumonia. Dogs with spinal conditions are prone to them. I hope we don’t ever have to deal with this again. Happy Friday talk! Happy Wednesday friends! A week ago this old lady was hospitalized with pneumonia. I’m happy to report after a two day stay a few days of recovery she is starting to sound better. Her nasty cough doesn’t seem as scary as it did a week ago. Lots of steam showers and coupage. First couple days I had to fight with her to get her in the bath. She just kept turning around to go back to her bed. Now she willingly goes into the bathroom. She finishes her meds this week and we go back for a chest xray next week.hoping she’s all recovered so she can get back to living her best life. Raven has FOMO and everytime I leave with the other girls she cries. I feel terrible leaving her. Our dogs don’t understand that they need to rest. My sweet girl is breathing on her own. She’s eating and drinking like she’s just discovered food. She’s coming home today. I am so excited. Thank you to all of our friends for all the good vibes, messages and prayers. Happy Thursday y’all💕

Last night Raven was hospitalized for pneumonia. When I got home I had noticed white foam all over her bed. Her breathing was off as well. I drove her to the emergency vet because I was worried she was bloating. They took her in immediately to assess her. They took chest and stomach X-rays. They ruled out bloat and she was diagnosed with pneumonia. The vet felt comfortable sending her home with meds. Once they got her off her back and standing her breathing rate increased. She was hospitalized last night and is on oxygen and IV fluids.

The vet called this morning to let me know her breathing is back to normal with the oxygen but will need to remain on it still. She is eating and doing much better. She is still battling a pretty nasty cough. Thank you to all of our friends for all the love, good vibes and prayers. I am very thankful for the amazing care shes received at the emergency vet.
