No es histórica… pero funciona 😏
Ligera, flexible y 100% impresa en 3D. Perfecta para cosplay… aunque a algunos les duela reconocerlo 😜

Impreso en una prusa core one, más que nada por la estabilidad y precision.

🍩 Un círculo impreso en 3D… que NO era un círculo.
💎 Y otro que sí. ¿La diferencia? Matemática pura.
-
🔥 El encargo:
-
Una joyería de lujo me pidió un exhibidor redondo para mostrar sus brazaletes.
🟡 El diseño estaba perfecto…
🔴 pero al cliente no le gustó cómo quedaban los círculos.
-
🧠 El problema oculto:
-
🛠️Las impresoras 3D no pueden hacer círculos perfectos.
Solo pueden mover el cabezal en trazos rectos,
así que cada círculo que ves en una impresión…
👉 en realidad es un polígono con muchos lados.
-
Cuantos más lados tiene → más “parecido” es al círculo.
Cuantos menos → más feo se ve (el famoso efecto low-poly).
-
🔍 La investigación:
-
Estudios de percepción visual muestran que
👁️‍🗨️ el ojo humano no distingue un círculo real
de un polígono con cientos de lados.
-
🛠️Eso significa que no necesitaba cambiar el diseño,
solo aumentar la “resolución geométrica” de ese círculo.
-
🛠️ La solución:
-
🛠️Rehice la pieza aumentando drásticamente
el número de segmentos que forman el contorno.
🛠️La impresora Core One L simplemente siguió más puntos,
el acabado quedó perfecto…
y el cliente feliz. 😎✨

🧪 Dato nerd:
-
Un círculo perfecto NO puede existir en una impresora 3D,
pero con suficientes segmentos…
tu cerebro lo interpreta como perfecto.
🧠 Es ingeniería + psicología visual trabajando juntas.

🛠️ Armar una impresora 3D desde cero puede parecer muchísimo más difícil que comprarla ya ensamblada… pero también puede ser una de las mejores formas de aprender cómo funciona realmente.
-
🖨️ En este caso estoy armando una Prusa CORE One pieza por pieza. Motores, correas, estructura, electrónica, extrusor… cada componente te obliga a entender qué función cumple dentro de la máquina.
-
🧠 Y ese aprendizaje después vale muchísimo: cuando aparece un ruido extraño, una pieza se desgasta o algo deja de funcionar, ya no estás mirando una “caja mágica”. Sabés qué hay adentro y dónde empezar a buscar el problema.
-
🔧 Por eso, aunque comprar una impresora 3D en kit requiere más tiempo y paciencia, también puede hacer que pierdas el miedo a mantenerla, modificarla y repararla vos mismo.

🚀 La mejor impresora no es solamente la que imprime bien: también es aquella que aprendés a entender. by @3dems

STORMBREAKER reveal! 6 years after my Stormbreaker LED • Smoke, I found some time to work on this passion project of mine, again. It's insane how much better I've gotten at painting thanks to my friends who've taught me over the years and the 3d rendering workflow I like to follow on real life props.

Mostly printed on the Prusa Core One L. More videos about this soon!

STORY TIME! From the beginning, where it all started with Prusa @josefprusa and the MK3S, my first ever 3D printer. Still reliable after 8 years.

I had this urge, this drive to make this axe and display it proudly. I made so many versions, foam, 2 printed, 1 molded and cast, 1 with electronics and now another one, with even more detail and an updated paintjob, printed on the Prusa Core One L.

It all starts somewhere, and I could never have imagined where this prop has taken me. Everyone I've met, locally and internationally. I feel the happiest. I'm still working on my dream to work for a Thor/Avengers film but I'm very satisfied with the last two years I've been working in the film industry.

I know things have been slow here, but I feel very fulfilled with where I'm at. I will keep posting and working on my Dr Doom suit (neck and belt next) but be patient with me.

Again, thanks so much everyone at Prusa, it was lovely meeting you last year at Formnext and I hope to keep collaborating more and more in the future!
