Happy Early Anniversary gift - 18x24 (Pencil)

This has been the most challenging portrait I have done next to Lauryn Hill. But I promised in March to deliver (this) before my client left from school. Yes, I could’ve had it done days prior. Some might call it procrastination but I call it standing still, and that I do often. With this piece, every skill, strength I have, my time and organization was challenged. Even during grief for my brother in Christ, I stood still, grieved, and still delivered when I wanted to fold. I told myself only a few more hours but time slipped through my fingers like water. I questioned my abilities, my strength, and my promise but God never failed me and I vow to do the same. I thank my client for this challenge (even though I picked the picture lol), and last but not least I thank God for strength.
