They called Black people lazy and ignorant—but history proves otherwise. From Tulsa’s Black Wall Street to Rosewood, Wilmington, Seneca Village, Oscarville, Elaine, and Colfax, thriving Black communities were intentionally destroyed by white mobs, police, and politicians. Churches burned, schools leveled, families murdered—all to erase Black wealth and independence. This isn’t forgotten history—it was erased on purpose. Watch, share, and comment: why don’t our schools teach this truth? Like and follow for more stories they tried to bury. #blackwallstreet #hiddenhistory #blackwealth #buildit #theft by @3l3.deee

The Thibodaux Massacre was an episode of white supremacist violence that occurred in Thibodaux, Louisiana, on November 23, 1887. It followed a three-week strike during the critical harvest season in which an estimated 10,000 workers protested against the living and working conditions which existed on sugarcane plantations in four parishes: Lafourche, Terrebonne, St. Mary, and Assumption. #thibodeaux #AmericanHistory #DarkHistory #blackhistory #History by @3l3.deee

🚨 THEY SOLD TICKETS TO WATCH A MAN DIE… AND THEN WALKED FREE. 😳💔

In 1911, Livermore, Kentucky, a Black man named Will Potter was brutally murdered by a mob while people gathered to watch.

Yes—tickets were reportedly sold to spectators.

And when the violence was over, the justice system failed to hold those responsible accountable.

🎥 This is one of the darkest chapters of American history—and a story too many people were never taught.

💭 HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU THINK KNOW THIS STORY TODAY?

😳 Almost nobody
💔 Far too few
📚 We need to teach it

👇🏾 Comment “NEVER FORGET” if you believe forgotten history deserves to be remembered. SHARE this story so it doesn’t disappear again.

🖤 History may be painful—but forgetting it makes it easier to repeat.

In 1964, 22-year-old Barbara Jackson was arrested in Detroit after a dispute over money. What happened after she reached the police station would become a painful example of how difficult it could be for a Black person to challenge police abuse.

Barbara said she was violently assaulted by police and suffered serious injuries to her face and body. But instead of staying silent, she decided to make those injuries visible.

She went to the Michigan Chronicle and had her injuries photographed. The images gave people something they could see for themselves.

When the police department dismissed her complaint, Barbara kept fighting. The NAACP supported her case, and she eventually took her complaint to the Michigan Civil Rights Commission.

Barbara Jackson was not a powerful politician or famous activist.

She was a young woman who simply refused to let the people who hurt her control the story.

If this is your first time hearing Barbara Jackson’s story, comment “FIRST TIME.” #blackhistory #hiddenhistory #blackhistoryfacts #blackhistorymatters #blackexcellence by @3l3.deee

The Groveland Four
July, 1949: Four young black men are accused of rape by a 17-year-old woman in rural Lake County, Florida. The case of “The Groveland Four” included a race riot, torture, multiple murders, two trials and a Supreme Court reversal. Though widely covered by the national press, the case has been largely forgotten... even though it helped lay a foundation for the Civil Rights Movement. #GrovelandFour #AmericanHistory #TrueCrime #HistoryDocumentary #ForgottenHistory by @3l3.deee
