Club Bizarre x Griend Garage

On 16.01 we take over Griend Garage.
An urban, industrial space with a skate ramp at its core. Built for noise, movement and expression.

Alongside our recipe of bizarre tunes, this night opens up to more than sound. Around it, the space comes alive with stick and poke by Yogi Handpoke, live painting by Emilio Sanchez and an exhibition of art, video and merchandise by Emilio Sanchez, DRNK and Koen op den Drink.

The floor will be warmed up by Jelled & Milan Evens, after which Mitta & Naath keep the momentum going.

Different surroundings, same intuition.

Core figures

Core Figures is an ongoing, timeless series of illustrative portraits, customized around a persons character & story.

Before I start a portrait, I don’t start drawing.
I start by observing.
I collect a person’s traits, values, stories, and beliefs.
I take their physical presence and their mental character,
and from that information, I select what matters most.
Those key elements become the foundation.
I translate them into symbols, shapes, and structure,
creating an abstract psychological portrait with its own visual language.

I keep adjusting, testing, and rebuilding the image
until it truly represents who the person is.

Made this one for tha best & realest homie @elpecadorr 🙏❤️ by @3miliosanchez

This was a commissioned work.

Been deep in the process of graduating Illustration at @wdka these past months.

My final project explores identity, perception, and the tension between first impressions and core essence. This character has been with me for a long time, and somehow found its way back into the story.

Not showing the final graduation work just yet…
It’s still unfolding, but almost there.

Really excited about how it’s all coming together. Can’t wait to share.🙃
