I’m so happy to finally share with you what I have been working on over the past year!

What are your three favourite objects?

This simple yet revealing question is the starting point for every interview in 3 objects - a print magazine founded in Berlin by Sven Durst. It’s an interview-based publication that explores the emotional and symbolic connections between people and their most cherished objects. In this issue, 13 interesting personalities are photographed in their homes - their “natural habitats”, with just a few film photographs per participant: a portrait and their three chosen objects. This issue takes a broader perspective, featuring voices from Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, and Sicily. Among the participants are artist Michael Stipe, Sicilian fermenting expert Marion Tiso, PIN-UP founder Felix Burrichter, bodybuilder Tischa Thomas, and architect Sam Chermayeff.

3 objects offers a glimpse into the intimate connection between people and the objects they hold dear.
For 3 objects, objects are doors - doors to people and their stories.

noguchi‘s private dresser
one of @michaelstipe favourite objects

Noguchi designed this wardrobe for his bedroom in his apartment on the Upper East Side. It was built for him and stayed with him until he died. The design drawing is at the Noguchi Museum. I bought it at auction when nobody wanted it. It wasn’t expensive, considering the history it holds. My father loved Noguchi’s work, and we often visited the Noguchi Museum together. My connection to Noguchi goes beyond this wardrobe—his philosophy and Brancusi’s influence are deeply inspiring. I’m obsessed with the idea of work by a sculptor that isn’t art, but a practical piece of furniture—a usable, utilitarian object. He simply designed something he needed, and I just love that.
I love Noguchi -I wish I had met him.
