💔vulnerable post💔 From someone who has bought two newbuilds within 5 years from #barratthomes and #taylorwimpey I am reflecting on the past 13 months and why my 3rd newbuild will be the most important one yet. From someone who has bought two newbuilds in 5 years by #barratthomes and #taylorwimpey I wish someone had advised me of these things! I should’ve said:order a takeaway!!!The mats always catch me out. Outside, the ground is dusty and messy, so it’s essential to have mats and take off shoes at the doors. As I mentioned in previous videos, dust is everywhere and tradespeople will be in and out. I always requested them to remove shoes (once flooring was laid). Unpack kitchen and bathroom stuff first. Kettle and mugs should be easiest to find. Bathroom essentials including shower gel, toothpaste, a bath mat and towels need to be within easy reach. Clearly label your boxes. 📦 Organise what you will be sleeping on for the first night. Do you already have a bed? If so someone needs to put it up during the day before you are too shattered, head upstairs and remember there’s nothing to sleep on! An air mattress? A normal mattress? Sleeping bags? Temporary blinds from ikea saved us. The first time I didn’t have, but borrowed a spare from a neighbour as the street lamp outside seemed to be so bright. The second time I was fully prepared and bought lots of blinds for the bedrooms and living room. Order big bins from the council and register you at your new address at all institutions (bank,utilities, car finance company etc). From someone who has bought two newbuilds in the past 5 years from #barratthomes and #taylorwimpey this is how I’m surviving the latest heatwave.I’ve received lots of helpful tips and watched helpful videos. Turns out my installed blackout blinds weren’t enough, so I bought some amazing microfibre stick on blinds for extra reinforcement- absolute game changer. This heatwave the house has “only” reached 29.5 at the end of the day!!! A few weeks ago I hit 34C inside of the house. It was miserable.Since then I ordered 2 boxes of blinds to cover the exposed windows but just ordered two more boxes to cover all windows. Even covering the front door has been a life saver. Closing internal doors has helped too. In the morning I open the back windows and doors for air and close the doors to the front of the house and it makes everything cooler. Yes I am working on the laptop whilst hopping around and doing all this 😩🤣My house has a lot of large windows and patio doors.My house is East facing so it means I have the sun from morning til night.This time round I feel like I may finally have it nailed without A/C 🙏🏾#newbuildjourney #newbuilduk by @3rdnewbuildlucky

Mine are mid tier quality and relatively durable from Next. Next let’s address the elephant in the room: The Le Creuset set is absolutely not in my cupboards currently. They will form part of my inheritance I guess one day 😞 She has a green full set bought in the mid 90s and they STILL are in great condition. From someone who has bought two newbuilds within the past 5 years from #taylorwimpey and #barratthomes we were shocked at the astronomical prices of kitchen upgrades! We knew our beautiful first home was “temporary”- a stepping stone. We gave ourselves 3 years, yet we moved within 18 months!! Couldn’t have planned or predicted that. Had we spent *** £5k (2020 prices) that would’ve been £5k off the profit we needed to move to our current home. I don’t have any recommendations as people will spend what they want to, but I’d just say to keep it in mind how long you plan to be there and will it be worth the extra money in the long run?Sidebar || I feel weird saying “we” and “our” as we’re not together, but because we did everything together and made key decisions together, I can’t miss him out. #newbuildjourney #newbuilduk by @3rdnewbuildlucky

From someone who has bought two newbuilds within 5 years from #barratthomes and #taylorwimpey this was the case in both gardens.We chose good shapes (I should’ve mentioned that shapes vary a lot in newbuild plots). We have never done our gardens as they weren’t a priority, but I hope to have mine perfect for the 3rd newbuild.
