day 4. uwc reunion cruise. juneau, alaska. whale breaching everywhere!

original tour got canceled due to high winds and rough seas, but as i was walkingnback to the ship, got roped in literally at the last minute to another tour, ran over to the bus in two minutes and got super lucky on the whale watch, we saw multiple breaches and for the first time was able to capture then on camera.

learned from the awesome crew that whales seem to be more active when theres worse weather, while they get a little sleepy when the suns bright and sunny. this weeks been SUPER lucky with whales!! couldnt have asked for more.

special thanks to captain ben for keeping us safe and finding awesome sightlines, and for naturalists brock and ford for keeping us informed. had a blast chopping it up with @40spix on best techniques for capturing whale pics and nerdung out about camera gear. if you're ever out in juneau, highly recommend @juneauwhalewatch for tours as theyre locally owned and operated.

simply incredible and lucky. really living the new toys that I got for this trip. the a1ii and the 400-800mm has been a dream.
