There are places where this can happen in 2025, and it’s 1000% authentic. Kyrgyzstan is one of those places. Villagers travel on horseback through the mountains in winter to harvest firewood and hunt. For our lead guide @petey_stone yesterday, it was a 6km ride to access our yurt camp after a short break in Karakol to pick up photog 📸@jsack_foto.

Saddle up!!! We are seeking a photographer for our Kyrgyzstan season! This is a super unique opportunity to hone your skills, spend some quality time in the mountains with quality people, and experience one of the coolest countries and cultures on the planet. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Kyrgyzstan is a photographers dream!

This isn’t a paid position, and you’ll need to arrange your own flights to/from. But once there, we will FULLY take care of you, with all of your transport, food, lodging—nearly everything—covered. You’ll be joining 2 incredible guide teams and working with 4 different groups, which equals 24 clients who may want to purchase your work. You can offer photo packages, photo/video packages, prints, whatever you’d like.

The proposed timeframe is February 7-March 8, but we can potentially accommodate a slightly earlier stay.

Goes without saying, but you must be a proficient backcountry skier or splitboarder, and just a stoked individual in general 😁

Interested? Email ryan@40tribesbackcountry.com and provide a link to your website/Instagram or attach a PDF portfolio that showcases your work.

All photos here shot by last year’s photog @jacksnapsryan.
