My therapist said, try journaling. I said okay and then spent three hours making it look like an art installation before writing a single word.

In my defense, the dot grid paper was calling to me. And the dried chrysanthemum. And apparently I have opinions about washi tape now, which is a sentence I never thought I’d say.

Is this healing? It feels like healing. It also feels like a slight personality shift I was not warned about. Sending love to everyone else who came for the aesthetic and stayed for the accidental self-reflection. by @417press

As a Canadian small business owner watching what’s happening south of the border, I too am making intentional choices about where my dollars go.

I cancelled Amazon Prime a year ago; no surprise that I’m saving money on impulse buys. I only sign up for one streaming service at a time, and only occasionally (I currently subscribe to none). Instead, I invested in courses and reading. Finding shipping solutions in Canada, however, is proving more challenging. Suggestions welcome!

It’s not about perfection. It’s about being deliberate. Supporting local when I can, choosing Canadian alternatives where they exist, and being willing to accept a little inconvenience to align with my values is more important.
