We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday for Walk In Cinema: Shorts Showcase Aberdeen!

A wee bit of info about the event:

17th October 6:30-8:30pm at 8:30 we will be going along to Noose and Monkey to have a yap about the films, catch up with friends and maybe make some new ones!

FINDING US

Upper Denburn Gardens is the open air area on the roof of Denburn Car Park. It can be a wee be tricky to navigate your way round, but the easiest way is to find us via Rosemount Viaduct.

There will be people there to guide you but here’s some directions just in case:

1. From Rosemount Viaduct, head down the bridge (next to the Pharmacy) which is the entrance to the old Health Centre
2. Continue straight and head down a couple of steps, into a big open space
3. Head to the opposite corner of this space, on the other side of the circular garden bit in the middle
4. Head round the side there and you will find us!

PLEASE NOTE

This is an outdoor event in an unconventional location so please wrap up warm! We will have around an hour and a half of films so feel free to bring a flask and snacks to keep you cosy too.

We also advise sensible shoes as Denburn can sometimes be a wee bit muddy.

There are no toilets on site, so we are keeping the event run time to within 2 hours. We will be showing all films back to back with no interval, so you are welcome to come and go as you please throughout.

The man. The myth. The legend that is Scottish actor Tam Toye. Tam starred in our @48scotland film project for the fourth time - originally being with us in our 2012 entry “Cameron Stone”, then 2013’s “Rent-a-Buddy” and 2014’s “The Last Bar” and now 2026’s “A Lost Art”.

A great character actor who brings 100% to the role.

This dream team made our 48 Hour Film Project SO much fun! But there are a few people not in this first photo who helped to make it all possible: Gillian Hay who gave us her stunning house for a whole day; Pat Harvey who baked us lots of delicious treats; Jen Scott who took all the professional photos; David R Simpson who wrote the original music - and Jonathan McEnroe who quickly created us a comic book pitch AND is designing our film poster, and Ash from Cinora, our amazing Editor who worked through the night 🫶🏻 (More on them later).
We could not be more grateful for the support.
Every single person in our cast & crew was first class.

Last weekend, Random Place Productions took part in the Glasgow @48scotland with an incredible cast and crew.

This is our second 48 as a team, and it was another crazy nonstop filmmaking experience full of creativity, fun, and a whole lot of caffeine!

We’re really happy with the final result - our new mockumentary, “Sam: The Celtic Cowboy”.
We can’t wait to see it screened at the @glasgowfilmtheatre later this month!

A year after No More Beef, The Maxwell’s Family is back with Space Cats, a mockumentary musical (yes).

What we can tell you about this story is: it’s a meeting between a graphic novelist and members of a theatre company who want to adapt her comic into a show.
