I haven’t been to @friezeofficial for a couple of years, and to be honest, the last time I went, I was quite disappointed by the quality. Everything seemed a little flat and uninspired.

BUT NOT THIS YEAR.

I was positively surprised by the overall quality, and I even discovered some new artists.

If you know me, you know that I’m quite conservative when it comes to art and that I do enjoy the classics. BUT since I’m so particular and rather critical of new artistic positions, you can take my word for it. ;)

Are you planning to go to Frieze?

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed @friezeofficial , but my personal highlight was the incredible exhibition “Painting the French Riviera” at @royalacademyarts .

What a treat to see all these incredible masterpieces from all over the world brought together in one place. I discovered a completely new side of Monet and developed an even deeper appreciation for the early works of Matisse.

And to be honest, how fantastic must life in the South of France have been when F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote Tender Is the Night?

I’m an old soul, after all. So this exhibition was my personal pre-birthday present.

Thank you, @royalacademyarts , for this wonderful exhibition. It’s truly magical. ✨
