this one’s called “The World is Burning and i Cant Stop Crying, Somehow Moments of Peace Still Seem to Come Find Me” by @4L15A_ 2026

This is my cover of “Sailor Song” by @gigiperez . I first heard this song in a @turtlewithhat_ youtube video during a winter cabin vlog. emma played guitar while izzy sang the words, and they had a montage showing pieces of their trip together. Seeing them sing and play together immediately brought me to tears and i kept sobbing; it felt like witnessing a love i never knew could be so strong and deeply true between two souls. i imagined the lyrics being sung about an imaginary lover who has yet to find me, “the kind of thing that makes you proud, that nothing else had ever worked out”, “i sleep so i can see you and i hate to wait so long”. lyrics that echoed in my heart and replayed all the sticky and heavy emotions that overflow from my chest.

but how can i wish for love, when the world is burning. friends who are no longer walking this earth, i wish i could speak to again every day. generations are being wiped out. families are being torn apart. animals and insects are on the brink of extinction. children are starving. nothing is affordable. people are sleeping outside on scorching concrete and left to freeze in the snow.

somehow within the atrocities there are far and few moments i feel limitless; moments i had hoped for and didnt think id ever see in real life. somehow these moments allow me to feel connected to a greater good. somehow i stop wondering what is this all for, and im taken to a place where i look back and see how far we’ve come. i dont know where we are going, but i really hope one day we will all feel peace and true love. whatever that means for each of us.

i hope my art can bring any sense of comfort or relatability. thank you for reading.

que viva las mujeres fuertas. dos angeles que se fue el mundo para las estrellas y la luna. i hope the sea and sands brought you a place of comfort and rest as they did before.

que viva vero, i will become more independent move through life without fear for you. thank you for showing love to your community and friends, your legacy will live for generations to come.

que viva karina. no words can express this feeling of losing you. i know you said not to be sad, so i will march forward knowing you loved us. you allowed me to see myself. to truly appreciate myself as a work of art. seeing the world through your eyes was a gift we took for granted. i can only imagine the photos youre taking now, and the insane skate spots youre shredding through. the homies will never ever forget you. this song will always remind me of the hours we spent gluing pins to my face. i will miss you forever dude. k.m.b ♥️ by @4l15a_

this Saturday at @aztlanlibre from 11-7pm, please come support the family and loved ones of Veronica Maria Moran ❤️

~ these art prints are available this saturday and all proceeds will be given to to the family ~

i got the privilege to meet miss vero last month in June. immediately i got a sense of her kindness and grace in our few conversations. she made sure everybody was seen, included, and supported without being asked. she was an inspiration and dedicated ally to her community, who brought a feeling of safety with her presence. we have to be brave and keep marching forward in her honor. i hope she is now dancing freely in the sunlight, the breeze, the mountains, the ocean, and the stars. ~ps thank u for trying to teach me how to dance cumbia. v.m.m presente by @4l15a_
