Limelight, 2026 - No Man is an Island 🌱⚠️

On view through May 24 in The Museum at The Fashion Institute of Technology! 🗺️

Limelight is one of two images from my BFA senior thesis, No Man is an Island. It shows a futuristic, post-apocalyptic version of my hometown, Staten Island, where things have gone too far to be fixed. Both the environment and the people are shaped by industry and technology, and the damage to the land is connected to how people think and behave.
As consumer culture grows, the world becomes more polluted- the air and water are filled with soot, and the ground is layered in trash. At the same time, new technologies and media spread unrealistic and sexualized images of women. In a male-dominated society, these ideals form pressures for women to constantly watch and judge themselves, as if they are always being looked at.

Alyssas Editor Letter for @blushmagfit F/W 2025 “THE DISSONANCE ISSUE” 🖤

I’m a wee late, but after a looooooooong semester, the Dissonance Issue is finally here!! I’m so thrilled to share such a meaningful voice that speaks to transformation and the trials and tribulations of becoming. Dissonance is the second issue I’ve had the privilege of photo directing alongside @youliterallycantsee, under the creative direction of my good friend @allisonsimmss

Working on blush was such a transformative experience. I made friends with people I never imagined I’d connect with, learned so much about being on set, running and collaborating with a team, thinking outside the box in sticky situations, and SO much more that changed me as an artist and gave me perspectives I’ll carry with me for as long as I’m creating.

Thank you to the fantastic post-production team for bearing with me and all of my ridiculousness. Every single person on this team was so incredibly talented, and I loved working with you all SO MUCH. I can’t wait to someday be on set with this crew again, creating more truthful and heartfelt stories together.
