One year ago today I bought this little rig. It's been a big project but it's also given me some of the best adventures. Here's to another year of ruining it. by @4ruind

Long post for those interested. I wanted to put out a review of what has and hasn't been working so far for people like me interested in old builds and truck camping.

Swipe for way too many words ->

The Good
- Tires. Easily the best part of the truck itself so far. I haven't had Yokohamas before. The 33x10.5 C Load AT4 Geolandars are awesome. Sitting on the 15" American Racing wheels, the total weight is 45lbs. Way down from the 60lbs I had on the Tundra. Stock truck with the 33s, I was still getting 17MPG on a very tired 3ZVE, now getting 15.4-15.9mpg with the GFC added, depending on hills and wind. I couldn't get them stuck in the dunes, rocking 17-18 PSI. Could have gone lower, but I didn't have a recovery buddy that time, just Maxtrax and a spare. They've been great on the highway and dirt too, just super impressed with them at the beach. Still need some good mud testing.

The Good
- GFC. The heart of the build and why I went with the first gen over a third gen. I've always thought the 80s trucks looked better, but the capability the GFC adds is ridiculous. I can still fit down tight trails, stay light enough for the dunes, it keeps the truck cooler in the heat, side access is something I appreciate the most, the modularity inside is simple and clean, and I love the amber lights that were added. It's been the most comfortable I've ever slept while camping. I'm 6'3 and a very warm sleeper, and this has been cool and a great fit. From the high desert, to the beach, to the rainforest, and mountains, every environment has been easy to sleep in with no or very minimal condensation on the sides.

Very happy with it, and I definitely recommend...on sale.

The Good
- LCE H4 Headlight Conversion. I felt like I was better off driving at night with my eyes closed beforehand. The H4 has been an awesome set-up. You keep the warm and classic 80s style, but you can actually see like a modern car. I've been super happy with them, easy to install and is much safer than the OEM style. Not a big LED guy, so I'm glad this option was out there.

The Good
- Induction Cooking. I bought a NuWave single plate induction cooktop just before the trip. After watching Tinkerer's Adven by @4ruind

The Runna was in desperate need of some body work and paint. Thankful for everyone who helped out. The truck and Go Fast Camper combo has been awesome so far. @gfc_usa was super friendly and I'm very grateful to get a camper on for the summer. by @4ruind

First real trip out for the 4Ruind. Wrenching until the day of to get it going, but it absolutely ripped. Maybe next time I'll really jump it...and have a tub that is secure.

So far, fairly stock or similar OEM suspension. Tires are 33x10.5r15 Geolandars. Definitely need AC soon. by @4ruind

Finally decided to make a page after some convincing. Welcome! I have been restoring/breaking an '88 4Runner V6 for almost a year now.
Bought the 4Ruind in Idaho last fall and have been learning ever since. From EGRs, to the Throttle Body, to even broken fuel lines, it has taught me a lot. Can't recommend against this enough, but I'm having a blast. by @4ruind
