Jifya moja haliinjiki chungu.

I believe human beings were meant to experience life with a community. Life can feel like a huge layer of weights when we face it alone, but with people, somehow, inakuwa lighter kidogo. We all need community.

These are just a few of my Tea-Mates. 🤎

I conceptualised TeaWithT because I know what community can do for a person. What started as a casual hangout with my friends in our hostel backyard became this — a space to connect, to share, to listen, and just kuwa pamoja.

The Mzizi Edition was all about kujichimba — digging deep, finding purpose, understanding ourselves better, and reflecting on where we come from and how our roots shape who we are.

When I look at these pictures, I see the little things — conversations, hugs, whispers, smiles and laughter, daps and handshakes, all frozen in time.

I see the intimacy of it all. The way strangers sat close enough to share stories. The way people listened to each other. The laughter between conversations. The little glances, the warmth, the vulnerability, the feeling of kuwa pamoja.

And I realise that all these little things made Mzizi what it was. It wasn't just the conversations on stage or the performances. It was the intimacy. The people. The stories. The laughter. The quiet moments. The connections that happened in between.

Honestly, all I want to do is connect. Love is connection. Upendo ni connection.

I have been carried by this community. Strangers have become friends. People I met along the way have become part of my story.

Sote tunajaribu tu. We are all still figuring it out, but we don't have to figure it out alone.

I have my friends, my family, my colleagues, my community — and you, my Tea-Mates.

Nimebeba, na nimebebwa.

This is such an honour.

Thank you for showing up, for sharing your stories, for listening, for creating, for being vulnerable, and for simply being there.

Thank you for making TeaWithT: Mzizi what it became.
